The Arctic ocean has been a tropical paradise (comparatively) for a while now. That's because of the 'heat of fusion' or the heat energy released when freezing. Freezing in salt water is a very complex situation because the ice crystals reject the salt and float to the top. The ice is fresh water, and the excess salt goes down to the bottom.
The -60 is starting in Siberia and hitting the ocean. The thicker ices acts as a thermal block and we should soon see total -60. The North Atlantic is still warmer due to a lot of Atlantic topical plumes, but that is coming to an end.
The UK is enjoying the fruits of this labour.

It looks as if Hudson's Bay is turning into ice and that should affect our weather. The weatherman has Sunday turning rather warmish but I can't see where that is coming from. Am I missing something.
A Pacific plume crashed in, and is sucking up Gulf air, so we're talking above freezing and snow. Then we hit -15, which is amazing with Lakes Huron and Erie still open. If they freeze then it's -30.
Being kicked off CBC is a badge of honour
I was just asking for the numbers that everybody is hiding. blah.
And I think I got kicked off Nat Post for asking about those numbers. With clange, they put no money into getting numbers that bother them. With covid, they have those numbers but no interest in putting them out. Same thing.
The question is why don't they want those numbers out.
These are my numbers that would kill the powers:
Covid cases no vax - 100%
omicron no vax - 100%
left over variants - death and icu - 100%
They aren't publishing these.
*when they don't release numbers, make them up!
