I'm looking at the long-range forecasts, and they expect this cold to end. As well, the price of natural gas is stuck at low.
Mimic is showing this air mass to be huge.
There are no plumes that look like they could cut in.
The Arctic is finally going to -40, and Greenland is -60.
If this gets worse, then it's a new thing. Normally, during the recent warming cycle, these things end quickly. Maybe not, this time.
ps. if they are expecting a plume to come in, I don't see it.
