Our weather on NA is simple -- cold. The Europe weather is complex because of endless plumes hitting it from the Gulf of Mexico.
The corundum is that the Atlantic equatorial belt has no heat, but the zone north of it is very warm, and spins off the plumes. Looking at the top mimic you can see that heat is coming from the West Pacific, and the Indian ocean. It zooms over Africa, until it hits our cold.
Then it deflects upward and hits Europe. Very nice.
