Although it still looks minor, compared to a blob, this guy is pouring in the negative thermal energy. It is a full spill, and doesn't look to be stopping soon. It will affect NYC.
We see the same for Europe, as the spill whips down the Greenland Gap. Spills activate right away, down topography channels. They can go on all winter. Blobs are delayed spills, blocked by warm air. Mega-blobs are very unusual, they are blocked by huge cyclones, and are ten times higher than spills.
For natgas, spills are the Energizer Bunny of persistence.
Greenland isn't white because of that large heat cyclone over Hudbay. But note the black over the Arctic. That is the Heart of Coldness, driving the spills. I expect I will be talking about this for a few days. The year before, we had two spills set up over Siberia and Alaska, and had California soaked all winter.
A spill like this has the potential to drain all the natgas reserves. However, it could stop tomorrow.
ps whoops, forgot these guys
These are my two fav spills. I was expecting this for all winter, until the blobs came. A constant spill over the UK is the stuff of dreams for the Little Ice Age.
What we have here in the Arctic is the beginning of a good factory for spill production. The air comes in, spins around a bit, and then pours out.
ps. ha, ha. This always happens when they don't know what they're doing.
