The mimic is out of action, but it looks like a cold week, and then the Arctic gets sealed up. This will set off a mega-blob a week after, and I'm calling Europe, for the pool. Standard spills go down the topographic channels, but a mb is ten time higher, and ignores the channels. We had a nice one down the Atlantic, but nobody was there to hear the tree fall. Ignorance is bliss.
A fine spill is still making it's way to Texas. There looks like no heat action coming from the Gulf.
In fact, the gulf is finally joining the rest of the world in trying the latest fad of an ice bath. Not good news for Texas.
I'm noting here that the exact same conditions of Arctic flow through Asia and Alaska gave rise to endless rains in California. Right now, you can see the powerful winds caused by the clockwise gyre, driven by cold. They never last. Without the trees, we will have endless rain, landslides, followed by a huge earthquake. A fine California situation, but maybe that's for another year. I wouldn't get my knickers in a knot, the odds are well below many other potential disasters.
The Arctic cold machine is whirring away, but confined by tropical plumes. Who knows where this 'Wheel of Misfortune' stops?
ps. the fun is in the fact we have no action on the natgas front, since it is the weekend. I'm going with no big action, since the weather forecasters are showing warmth in a week, and nooa will push that this is the return of 'super warm 2025'. This is the message they pushed before the cold, and they are going for a weak La Nina pulse that caused this cold. These explanations are always after the fact, since they forecast a warm winter, but nobody cares about that. Thursday will show another big storage draw, but they will hold their faith to nnoa.
