If we have no ocean heat transfer, the Earth reverts to stratification rings. We seem to be approaching this, because our main 'furnace', the Pacific Ocean has turned off.
Not totally there yet. Instead of an energetic 'Alberta Clipper', we have an 'Alberta Sloth'. That's cold air coming down at the speed of a glacier. It is actually following glacier mechanics, but a tiny bit faster.
Greenland is getting white. "Oh neat, the natgas people cry, no more high-speed Arctic spills". But the sloth just comes in and lays down for a long nap.
We have the Gulf Stream still fighting 'Jupiterfication'.
That huge storm is still in the Arctic, but breaking up. The polar bears will soon be able to shake off the snow, and get back to business.
ps and in the humour department, they are still flogging the dead horse of El Nino
