Arctic vortex blown away

Our summer was destroyed by the Arctic Vortex firing cold blobs at us.  Only during our short heatwave, was the vortex destroyed like this.  However, this time it will start spinning tomorrow.  So, we get lots of rain.

ps the commies have killed a lot of birds

ps I'm looking for their strategy post-El Ninnie.  Here it is, clange causing vortexes.  The essential big of the erroneous clange hypothesis is that it is uniform around the world.  They are going more to 'everything is climate change'.  Can't argue with them.

ps yeah, another grouchy old guy.

Ha, it's just one term in an endless sea of shifting semantics.

Back to the stuff, if you want to live forever

Getting stoned means the cancer becomes 'less cancerry'  These are micro-doses, but it is so difficult for me to keep up eating a touch of my oil.  But I'm going for it.

Gulf Stream officially deported from UK

That's Gulf of America Stream to you!

The big currents of the world bend with the continents, and go up north.  This is the main heat energy transport for the world, and the same works to the South.  The use of 'temperature' is improper in terms of physics, because there is no energy associated with it.

Since the Little Ice Age died in 1800 thereabouts, we have had the fine North Pacific current, curling up Japan, and the Gulf Stream, deflected by the Americas.

In terms of heat energy, these streams are active when there is a distortion of the sea temperatures from the expected flat latitude distribution.  We the North, live on this heat.  Now that the heat energy of the Atlantic Ocean is flat, we can declare the GS dead.

Since 2026, the GS has wobbled up and down.  When it is down, UK has a horrendous winter and summer drought.  When it is up, the UK is good.  When it is neither up nor down .. blah blah

ps El Nino gives us total death

Our summer was crap

There is a Summer Glory Index, that aligns with the tomato harvest.  Our summer is over now for that index.  This is the summer version of the winter misery index.

Historical Summer Glory Index (SGI) for Toronto
YearSGI ScoreSummer ClassificationPrimary Meteorological Characteristic
20262,410Unusually Poor / ShortPersistent cloud cover, frequent rain drops, lacking sustained heat waves.
20253,120Ideal / Highly GloriousAbundant sun, well-spaced rainfall, daytime highs consistently around 26°C.
20242,780Fair / AverageStandard Great Lakes fluctuations; several heavy thunderstorms cut into scores.
20232,810Fair / AverageMild temperatures but frequently overcast due to wildfire smoke layers.
20223,090Very GloriousLong stretches of dry, sunny weather; perfect for backyard gardening.
20212,650Muggy & HumidHeavy penalty hits from overnight lows failing to drop below 21°C.
20202,510Oppressive HeatRecord-breaking number of days above 30°C; too hot to be comfortable.
20192,890GoodBalanced, classic warm Ontario summer.
20182,580Hot & StuffyHigh humidity and persistent tropical nights degraded comfort levels.
20172,490Wet & SoggyHistoric rainfall totals and constant dampness ruined outdoor plans.
20162,610ScorchingExtreme daytime maximums caused high cooling demands and plant heat stress.
20153,180Most GloriousNear-perfect scoring. Warm, clear days with exceptionally crisp, dry air.
20142,380Wretched / ColdThe "Polar Vortex" legacy year; summer struggled to warm up.
20132,740FairAverage conditions with occasional heavy downpours.
20122,540Intense HeatVery dry, but continuous baking heat dropped the score.
20112,850GoodSolid heat spikes but counterbalanced by clear, refreshing intervals.
20102,680Warm / MuggyHigh evening humidex levels caused widespread discomfort.
20092,210Most WretchedThe lowest score since 2000. Dominated by constant cloud cover, shivering highs, and endless rain.
20082,630FairWet mid-summer patterns limited consecutive outdoor weekend streaks.
20073,050Very GloriousExcellent, drought-leaning summer with beautiful evening clarity.
20062,710FairBalanced but punctuated by a few very sticky, high-dew-point weeks.
20052,440Brutally HotSmog advisories and unrelenting humidity broke records.
20042,320Cold & GloomyA major struggle for heat-loving agricultural crops.
20032,790AverageClassic southern Ontario climate profile.
20022,590Hot & DryIntense solar radiation but heavily penalized by daytime extreme heat.
20012,920GoodWarm, reliable beach and patio season.
20002,460Damp / CoolHigh rainfall frequencies kept total index accumulation quite low.

We enter fall

This is a mess.

All rain all the time.

However, the Arctic ice machine is getting up from the mat, and ready to start slugging again.

In my sub-edit "Looking for El Nino", there is nothing to report - no sign of it, however, every single natural event is caused by it.  Stealth El Ninnie.

Arctic takes a holiday

Looks like a bit of Pacific energy has spun up from all the typhoons again.  Warm and rainy.  The Arctic vortex is at minimum energy.  This is the same weather we've had before.

Ninocoin continues to drift down.  No sign of the coming Ninobus.  Although they've started high, all temperature indicators are dropping.

ps yeah, we're getting all the Gods of Global Warming!  No physics for us.

ps we get nothing but this as we freeze

Kingdom of Trumponia

Yep, he just renamed the country.  Apparently, there is no law against it.  Just sign the paper in the magic office, and there it is.

How to prepare for El Nino disappointment

Using heat energy, physics, and an abundance of charts, we can conclude that there is a slight chance of Ellie being a no-show, a poop-out, a squib.  I'm saying that to be 'political'.  In fact, there is a zero chance, with zero being defined as something worse coming along.

In Canada, we get to keep all our Goose parkas and don't give any to the US.  I am busy cutting up tons of wood for the cottage.  My snowmobile buddies better grease up the treads.

Be prepared for the song and dance that climate changed killed the Ellie show.  The extreme cold and long winter will be clange, droughts, floods and glacier disasters - all clange.  They cannot mention one thing that is not clange.

As usual, they will go on and on and hype Ellie, until one day, there is no news on it.  So much fun.

I have no idea on how people can make money on this.  Quite fascinated on how the big AI will steal heat from the city centres who can't vote.

ps the Artie 'trade war' is amazing, on utube

Sea ice extent starts taking a shortcut

I am constantly looking at the North Atlantic thermal charts to see if there is a heat energy withdrawal.  In physics, we are looking at energy flow, and only the weather people focus on temperature.  Anyway I decided to look at this chart.  Sea ice extent is totally dependent on what is happening in the Greenland Gap, north of the UK.  We are peeling back the years of warmth.

This year or next, we are getting the official start to the ice age race.   That is, the old whaling stations get socked in with ice, the Swarliebad islands.  I conclude from this chart that the heat flow is failing.  The UK better start putting in thermal windows.  Those old Jane Austin windows are the pits.

ps this is actually a significant development that you will never read on the media.

ps subpolar n atlantic or n america, shows a big drop, like the ninocoin

I consider this view to be most free of detection drift.

Nice Winter Starting

That's a nice blob.  At the cottage, enjoying the temperature change.  Tonight is supposed to be very cold.

The Ninocoin continues to drop in price.  However, I've been reading that any type of weather at all, is climate change.  Nice to be always right.

The fun geology of the Lambton Power Plant

When I was looking for new nuclear plant sites, there were two main things:  stable water supply, and stable geology.  Bruce C and Lambton were immediately off the list, yet they are now top of the list.  Ignoring everything is not a new thing here.

They finally put Lake Erie off the list because it freezes solid.  Although the St. Clair River could get packed solid in the new ice age, it is not a main reason.

The Grenville Front, the largest Precambrian fault in Ontario continues through the river, which is, in fact, an outcrop.  When I started with the old company, it was common to comment on new sinkholes opening up at Lambton.  Somewhere nearby, they continue to leach out the rock for salt.

With the waster repository at Bruce, I was amazed how they could corrupt the geology just by narrowing the scope to nearly nothing.  They will do the same here.  Lots of fun.

Enjoy the party!
