El Nino Math Error Continues

First, we are getting lots of cold air.

I continue my campaign on the bizarre Pacific anomaly map.

We have this wonderful map, showing the big heat blob moving out of the equatorial belt.  Lots of things are moving.

Then we have this photo-shop fake thing.

I think they spent too much money on Claude.  There is no way this relates to actual temperatures.  Since the noaa building has been fumigated, there is nobody to ask.

Artie Pro getting better

This is fun.  Using the Gemini Pro, I conducted a fine thought experiment to see if the interference to heat transfer efficiency is affected by carbon dioxide.  This would take money.

Field Experiments for CO2 and Heat Flux

User prompt: Using the Scientific Method, the hypothesis is that the efficiency of heat energy leaving the surface of the earth is unaffected by concentrations of carbon dioxide, because of dominant convection. Design field experiments to address the hypothesis.

Response: To test whether the heat energy leaving Earth's surface is unaffected by carbon dioxide concentrations due to dominant convection, field experiments must measure all four components of the Surface Energy Balance:

Rn=H+LE+GS

where:

  • Rn is Net Radiation (SWinSWout+LWdownLWup)
  • H is Sensible Heat Flux (heat carried away by convective air transport)
  • LE is Latent Heat Flux (heat carried away by water evaporation)
  • G is Ground Heat Flux (heat conducted into the subsurface)
  • ΔS is the Energy Storage Change in the surface layer

Under your hypothesis, any increase in downward longwave radiation (LWdown) caused by elevated carbon dioxide concentrations should be fully offset by adjustments in convective heat transport (H), keeping the overall surface cooling efficiency and equilibrium surface temperature (Ts) unchanged.

1. Field-Scale Open-Air CO2 Enrichment (FACE) Array

Objective: Measure real-time changes in surface heat fluxes (H, LE) and radiative components (Rn) under manipulated atmospheric CO2 levels in natural open-air conditions.

Variables

  • Independent Variable: Atmospheric CO2 concentration ([CO2]), maintained at baseline ambient (~420 ppm), 800 ppm, and 1200 ppm via circular vertical enrichment manifolds.
  • Dependent Variables: Sensible heat flux (H), downward thermal radiation (LWdown), net radiation (Rn), and radiometric surface temperature (Ts).
  • Controlled Variables: Solar irradiance (SWin), background wind speed, relative humidity, and soil moisture.

Instrumentation & Setup

  • Eddy Covariance (EC) Towers: Install twin micrometeorological towers equipped with 3D sonic anemometers and fast-response non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) gas analyzers to directly compute turbulent convective heat transport:
    H=ρCpwT
where ρ is air density, Cp is heat capacity, w is vertical wind fluctuation, and T is temperature fluctuation.
  • Radiometer Suite: Deploy 4-component net radiometers (SWin,SWout,LWdown,LWup) alongside infrared radiometers aimed at the land surface.

2. Natural Volcanic CO2 Vent Transect

Objective: Eliminate artificial wind disturbance caused by enrichment fans by measuring steady-state surface energy transport across natural geogenic CO2 gradients (mofettes or volcanic degassing fields).

Experimental Setup

  • Site Selection: Choose a flat, uniformly vegetated field surrounding a carbon dioxide spring where [CO2] varies naturally from 420 ppm to over 2000 ppm across a short spatial distance, keeping solar exposure, surface roughness, and elevation constant.
  • Spatial Transect Deployment: Position 5 micro-meteorological stations equipped with net radiometers, soil heat flux plates, and boundary layer temperature sensors across the concentration gradient.
  • Boundary Layer Sounding: Launch tethered atmospheric balloons with high-resolution temperature, humidity, and CO2 sondes up to a height of 500 meters to profile the vertical thermal lapse rate (dzdT).

3. Convection-Modulated Field Mesocosms

Objective: Isolate the contribution of convection by mechanically dampening or amplifying convective mixing while controlling carbon dioxide levels.

Experimental Setup

  • Chamber Array: Construct open-top chambers featuring high-transmittance optical materials (allowing full passage of solar and thermal IR wavelengths).
  • Convective Treatments:
  • Natural Convection: Open canopy top with variable [CO2] injection.
  • Suppressed Convection: Baffled air intake to limit vertical air exchange (H→0).
  • Enhanced Convection: Variable-speed circulation fans providing forced convective exchange across controlled air speeds (0.5 m/s to 5.0 m/s).

Falsification & Evaluation Criteria

Experimental Metric

Outcome Supporting the Hypothesis

Outcome Refuting the Hypothesis

Surface Temperature (Ts)

Ts remains constant as [CO2] increases, because convective flux (H) increases to evacuate excess thermal energy.

Ts increases measurably with rising [CO2], showing convection cannot fully dissipate the added radiative energy.

Sensible Heat Flux (H)

H scales directly with changes in LWdown, preserving net energy loss efficiency at the surface boundary layer.

H saturates or fails to compensate for increased LWdown, altering the total surface energy balance.

Bowen Ratio (H/LE)

Adjusts dynamically to evacuate heat without raising equilibrium surface temperatures.

Shifts insufficiently, resulting in heat accumulation in the surface layer (GS>0).

Physical Context

While convection dominates heat transport in the unstable planetary boundary layer (the first 1–2 kilometers of the atmosphere), Earth's net thermal radiation escaping into space is constrained higher up in the troposphere near the effective emission altitude (~5–6 kilometers), where lower atmospheric density diminishes convective heat transport relative to radiative loss.

**they always throw in radiation above the stratosphere, but carbon dioxide helps in that.

Lake Erie nuclear plant follies again

I went through this already, when Bruce Power wanted to do this.  With our Major Ice Cycle, the lake freezes solid.

Without water, the nuclear plants shut down.  You saw the description of the weather during the little ice age, we get horrendous winters, and the summer has drought for Europe.

Anyway, I don't want to go through all this again.  People living around the area should not bother to dust off their "No Nukes" signs.

Weather continues cold

Lots of Arctic spills coming down.  The only rain for Europe is tied up in the North Atlantic.  Hopefully, the rivers even have mud this summer.  I'm thinking baked clay.

I looked up the climate base map for calculating the sea temp anomaly.  It is quite uniform and warm on the belt.  I cannot reconcile the actual temperatures with the calculated anomaly.  The warm blob is moving south and there is no sign of this on the anomaly.  I have to conclude there is a serious problem.

Anyway, the Nhemi is just trundling along, with no concerns as the the Fabricated Super El Nino.  The Nino zone temperature remains static, when it would be rising for a real thing.

For now, we have beautiful August weather come early.

NOAA Melts

Apparently, the computer feeds at noaa have gone kablewy.  So many people have suddenly disappeared that they can't sign in to the computers.  That's the trouble with security keys.  I mean, if I were suddenly escorted out by armed ice men, then I would toss the key in the garbage.

So all the feeds are suspect as to whether they are being updated.  That anomaly plot in the Pacific has been exactly the same, even though there are massive changes going on.

Some places are getting updated feeds.  The Pacific heat blob continues to move south, and the Gulf Stream has completed its new path.  Everybody is getting Arctic blobs.  I'm on strike for using feeds until this has settled down, which I don't think it will.  There is no incentive for updated feeds when they blow the Collective out of the water.

So, we are back to sticking your head out the door.

ps MIMIC is back!  I used my internet puppy dog eyes the other day, and it came back.

Here you can see our nice cool pulse.  Europe is getting a cleanse, as well

The Atlantic plumes are gasping trying to reach Europe, like my old dog on a walk.  No energy for either case.

All the plumes don't want to visit any more.

Tennis courts to be set up on new bridge

Toronto shoebox condos being dumped in foreclosure

I waited a long time for this.  Basically, the banks finally have the guts to foreclose, and they start dumping.

Nobody wants a shoebox condo.  They are now off 50%, and I think that's a rare sale.  That would be sold to someone who thinks a 50% haircut is sufficient.  The price drop will only stop at this point if everybody now thinks it's good deal.  Not going to happen.  90% for shoebox condos which will be turned into farms.

There are endless ugly homes north of Toronto.  No immigrants coming in.  Once the banks start on this, then it's 50%.  However, they seem to be holding up the zombie market.  We wait for the next headline.

Zombies can only stroll around for a while until they collapse.  They have no physics.  The banks were holding things up by creating 1000 year mortgages.  The government was ordering them to make things look good.  Time for the medicine.

Fine ordinary Japan Earthquake

I got some coffee when I went after Phil and Vennie.  Now, I go after Japan.  But they are so insular, I don't even get phoney hits from them.

We expect much better from Japan, but they are the ones who put backup generators in the basement.  Also, they have a lot of 'legacy builds' in areas that aren't regularly wiped clean.

This was a strike-slip earthquake in the stressed zone behind the main subduction zone.

You can see the fault zone is about 100 km long, which puts it into the 6+ category.  I estimate the ground motion to be 10 cm/s because of the light damage.

This is where we have fun because I always say we should ride out 20 cm/s, and their damage is ridiculous.

This is fun because it looks like a cantilever concrete beam with no steel.  Really?  Was it built by the mob?

Really?  What is this construction?  Pick-up sticks?  Oh well, we must allow for corruption.

Since this seems to be the only damage, that's why I give it 10 cm/s.  Japan is good for publishing the strong ground motion, but I don't want to go through all the barriers for this little guy.

ps they are the best for reporting

Looks like 20-40 cm/s for most of the area, but lots of recordings with very high pgv.  I will suppose these are on soft soils.  So, it is best to make fun while ignorant.

The rise and fall of heat energy

All rain in Europe comes from the Gulf Stream.  For NA, rain came from the Pacific, and now it comes from the Gulf of Mexico, colliding with Arctic air.

The Gulf Stream continues to fall.  I have people who are anxious about their European river cruise.  Will there be rain?  Although I am blinded by mimic being cancelled, I have to say no.  Still a lot of moisture around the Gulf, so Toronto won't have a problem.  During the previous Little Ice Age, there is evidence by virtue of the huge cedar forests, that we had rain.

The huge Pacific anomaly plotted by people we won't mention in polite company, is misleading.  The equatorial belt has no heat energy.  The anomaly is caused by a big cold spot on the anomaly base map.  A stationary anomaly has no meaning.  The whole concept of plotting the anomaly map is to note dynamic change.

All heat energy has now left the belt and is going south.  The reverse ocean current is dwindling.  The charts are 6 days behind and will soon fall.  Unless they get rid of all geophysics.

The Arctic is flowing, but I can't tell much without the plume maps.  I suspect they will never come back.  The flow from the Gulf Stream seems to be truncated.

All the good rain for Europe seems to be trapped.  I suppose the relatives can make mud pies in the Danube, that would be a good selfie.

ps just asked the Artie about N Am rain during the little ice age.

During the Little Ice Age (LIA), which lasted roughly from 1300 to 1850 CE, North America experienced a general shift toward wetter and more volatile hydroclimate conditions compared to the preceding Medieval Climate Anomaly. However, this period was not uniformly wet; it featured sharp, regional contrasts—such as a drier western boreal region and a wetter eastern boreal region—punctuated by intense, cold-season "cold droughts"

That's our weather coming up.  Who cares about Europe?

ps so I did Europe

During the Little Ice Age (ca. 1300–1850 CE), Europe experienced highly volatile, regionally polarized rain and snow patterns characterized by abnormally wet, short summers in the north and a dramatic increase in catastrophic flooding, alongside sporadic severe droughts, in the south. Instead of uniform dryness or wetness, the continent was defined by extreme hydroclimatic instability driven by shifts in atmospheric circulation.

ha,ha.  Seems like they got it now.

Massive lie with NOAA anomaly maps

Yeah, overlay the sea surface temps with current and you get this.

Overlay the sea temp anomaly and you get the gap in the middle, along the equator.

None of the media-hype charts show this gap.  Combine everything and we get heat transfer towards the south, and this is showing in the charts.

The great coming of Super El Nino is a lie, and we shall see everything fall apart soon.  Already, all those involved have run away.  Nobody will mention it, and life goes on.  When they come up with a new lie, everybody will believe it.  Sort of like trumpy and oil prices.

All of this does not affect anybody.  All 'climate scientists' are out of a job anyway.  However, looks like Canada is going to build a giant 'Science Park' to house all these guys.

This explains why all the air temperature rise is in the S. Hemi.  We the North, get cold.

ps I am happy using stronger language, since Googs Analytics has settled down to only 3 readers.  They got rid of the thousands of bots.  My friend up north will be happy with his 10 ft of snow for the snowmobile, and Toronto will be happy with Winnipeg weather.

ps that should finish my role in this.  As I predicted, they should take away all geophysics, and we'll all just be left looking out the window at the snow, like the good old days.  The winters will get colder and longer, and the media will say it's warmer.  Good-bye

Toyota giving up on hybrids

The last 2026 Highlander hybrids are rolling out until December.  Then the 2027 will be all electric.  I shudder at the consequences.  Yes, they get 500 miles on a charge, but you have to plug right into a transmission tower to get them to charge in a few minutes.  This is way more than a kettle.

Like I've said, they are changing all our transformers, but this is only a 10% thing.  We need a factor of 10.  A charging station will have to hang off a switchyard.

In just a year, we need to change all our energy transfer from pipelines to electrical wires.  This can only be done in fantasy-land.  Sounds like fun.  They want to run an underwater DC line from the new nuclear plants out east direct to Toronto via the lake.  Does anybody care this is physically impossible?

Gulf Stream completes the shift

You will never see something more impactful than this.  Same order as the total reversal of the Pacific Belt feed.

I found you can overlay ocean current with temperature.  This is the map of heat energy transfer.  High temp and high current indicates energy transfer density.  It's like comparing your extension cord with one of those high voltage wires.

As we see, all heat energy has transferred to a more southern path.  The existing temperature gradient keeps the turbulence north of this main flow going forever.  We will be able to watch the UK slowly freeze to death like a frog in ice water.  They will never know about it.

I think this will take years to be noticeable.  The oceans turn slowly but grind exceedingly fine.  The Pacific Belt turned over in 2016.

NOAA gives up on El Nino update

Since it doesn't exist, noaa seems to have left everything for third parties.  I used to laugh at their enso report and updates, which came out often.  Now I can't find anything.  Is this why my mimic is gone?  Are they all hiding?  At least the Europeans are at full blast.

Using my famous flippity-dippity technique, you can see the actual heat blob has left the anomaly zone, and that they are very sloppy in aligning the anomaly over the cold equatorial belt.  This has all been horrible AI slop.  I suspect that all the humans have been fired.

I can safely say now, that El Nino has left the fantasy building.  It will get harder and harder to keep it floating.

ps I hope they leave the fire barrel and go open up a food truck.

ps news search reveals no primary sources on El Nino.  All articles are about 'consequences'.

Tickety Boo

Chainsawing in the woods, I had this for an hour.  Huge thing.  I identified it after I stomped on it a long time.  Very cathartic.  No blood in it, but man, it carved a huge hole that bled like a fire hose.  It is harmless in Ontario so I think I'll live.  It dropped down and got under my collar, so I'll wear my hat from now on.

ps I think it jumped on me half-full.  It looked like 5 days of feeding, but I'm as alert as a twitching hare.

Let you know if I die.

ps now I'm sure I got a second-feeding tick because of no blood, and I'm so good.

New heating event to confuse me

First, this is not bothering our slide to cold.

We've got the Arctic deciding to end Summer.

We've got our Happy Vortex of Cold pouring down on us.

But we have the world air temp zooming up, to warm any warmie's heart.

But the N Hemi is unaffected, other than the usual urbanization drift.

Many other signs show no heating.  I have no idea and I really miss my mimic videos.  The Gulf Stream continues to melt, so I am still going for the Major Ice Cycle.  Buy long underwear!

ps ha, ha, this coming from the leftie-warmies

Intense cold blob coming down for the West

I'm not showing the video because of bandwidth issues, but it is a classic spin-off from the Arctic Ice Vortex.  Can't tell what side of the mountains it will take.

ps water at cottage is cold again.

Best Climate Change argument ever

This is the best point by point rebuttal of everything I have said.  They must read me!  They show all my charts and they leave physics behind as they interpret everything to support a super Ellie, and climate change going on forever.

They take the curve that shows the most urban drift, and they extrapolate that line.  They ignore the fact that the curve is dropping, and then they put in a wild 2027 forecast.  We just have to wait for the curve to actually do that.  Not going to happen.

Cottage Report - very cool

Late Aug weather in July.  When the media reports on this, they just say the warm weather is coming soon.  It isn't.  The biggest headline is on some small town in the middle of Siberia.  It has a stagnant solar furnace.  These are bound to happen in the summer, and you can prove Climate Change with them.  Just not repeatable.

Going to be cold tonight, and I start cutting up wood tomorrow.

Weather is steady on course

Everything is cold.  Ellie the Nino is not showing up yet.  Global temps dropping.  The Gulf Stream is carving a new path.  I wasn't even going to write anything today.

Another Day, Another Tariff

Well, we really are going back to the 30's.  At that time, the Great Depression was caused by all the trumpies shutting down all trade.

The more he trumpifies, the higher the gasoline price.  I hope all our oil and gas has 50% on top of the rising world price.  I don't think this does much to the economy, we have our own problems such as the housing market.  However, I don't think I'll ever get my new car.

ps and just because it is funny, we have snuffed out our fires, and the US is the big contributor

Apparently, we are going to have a US 20-30's party with all the US booze.

Little heat mouse runs away

The toes of the heat blob have finally shook the equatorial belt trap, and the blob is a tiny mouse running away.  It will leave the Nino Zone in a few days, and the charts will collapse.

We are all freezing for summer.  Where are the pictures going to come from?

Look at that sucker!  The Arctic Vortex is at full blast, more powerful than ever.  This is a heat machine, like all vortexes.  It extracts what little heat energy there is, dumps it into space, and leaves behind a very cold sludgy air.  This pours down on us like jelly on toast.  It was active all winter last season, and will be active from now on.  Soon we will get "Cold is impossible without carbon heating".

And a note has shown up on the internets:

Dear Santa, all my friends are saying that Carbon Warming doesn't exist, and that El Nino is fake.  I really believe in you, and Climate Change.  What should I do?  Virginny

Dear Virginny, your friends are all into nasty physics.  The Scientific Method With Physics defines 'reality' as something you can touch and see.  We are beyond that.  I, myself, live in the hearts and dreams of all left-wing intellectuals.  Climate Change is the new Marxism, and we know how successful that is.

Stick to your dreams and one day you can become a self-defined Climate Scientist.  After all, it is best to lift oneself up into the air by pulling on your own bootstraps.  I'll leave you a present to cheer you up.  Obviously, since I don't really exist, I'm not typing right now, and Ammie will leave you the present.

Santa.

ps heavy winter jacket this morning.  I hope the tomatoes ripen.

Wheelchair Jumping to be New Olympic Event

That's right, Toronto is setting up the training right now.

This is the ramp, and a nice lifter curl at the end.  Of course, distance is the main point-getter, but style is important, too.  Must land gracefully on the two back wheels, and gently place down the front wheels.

No points for landing on your head.

Earthquakes - minimum ground motion to cause damage

This is our worst scenario for buildings - unmortared piles of stone.  Over the years, I have settled on 2 cm/s for this type of damage.  People run out of office towers at 2 mm/s.  Note that the floppy building in the background is still standing.  I always look in the background of these pictures.

Obviously, they should follow Guatemala by using concrete and steel.  Also the extremely heavy roofs of Peru are a factor.

Arctic in full flow

Very gloomy today.  All is cold.

Looks like we can sing "Final Curtain" for the heat blob.

ps in summary, the Arctic Vortex was killed for HeatDay, and has now come back with a vengeance.  50% tariff on ice!

ps since trumps killed off mimic, I have to go to satellite.  You can see the weather being dragged down the middle.

I can't find any new lurid 'Ellie will kill you' headlines.

ps the Gulf Stream continues to drip like an ice cream cone.  I'm waiting for more 'Cold is caused by carbon' articles.  I saw a few now.

This is happening very fast for ocean currents.

ps on the dog walk this morning and a young coyote prances by us, ignoring my old barking dog.  They are getting ready for winter.

ps  yeah!  Back to lurid headlines.

We're all going to DIE!

The solid gold toilets have to go

Why wasn't it equipped with the usual chaff defence, etc?  Because it is equipped for royalty.  There is only so much you can load onto a plane before it becomes a boat anchor.  I am sure there was once a discussion of anti-missiles and toilets and the toilets won.

Let's plan for next year's HeatDay Festival

I'm sure we'll get at least one day of heat next year.  It will be magnificent!  Everybody books off work.  We turn off all our air conditioning to be like the Europeans.  All the computers go off to give the giant AI data centres a break.

We have a parade with big signs that say "HeatDay would be impossible without Climate Change"

We have booths where people can get good pictures of them 'dying' in the heat.  Extra points for the most drama.

Then we go back to freezing.

ps another great sign "All weather physics was done in 1850"

ps this is another great sign.  Note that they are all freezing.

Obviously, this is Climate Science.  Physics doesn't have any money.

ps my vision of the future is all the self-defined climate scientists gathering around the fire barrel, freezing to death.

Frozen

Now, we are going through movies.  The Gulf Stream had the WizzyOz with its melting act, and now all of us in the north are in the Elsa movie.

Yes, Virginia, Santa has started up the Great Arctic Spin, and washed away all those nasty heatwaves that made so many nice pictures.  Our nights are back to 12C, and I better cut more firewood for the cottage.

The Pacific blob is being worn away, and is finally dashing off to 'Where Elephants Go to Die', in the SE.  It was caught like a fish between two currents, poor thing.

The Arctic Ice Machine Vortex is spinning.

And the Pacific currents remain the same.  No El Ninny coming.

As we run out of heatwaves, all the forces of warmyness will go back to their rocks, ready to come out next summer for our one-day heatwave.  The one this summer was a doozy, and burned some of my tomatoes.  Next year, don't prune away the leaves until the Heatday is over.

With the Gulf Stream dead, we will finally have those unpronounceable Arctic islands encased in ice.  This is the first 'historic signal' of the Major Ice Cycle.  We only have history for the ending of the Cold Zone for North America.  Be ready for the 10 foot snow, Mr. Huntsville.

ps if you are Rich and Crazy in Singapore, buy me a coffee!

ps Ha Ha!

ps they don't have a clue

"Just stop burning forests." and the forest fire problem will be fixed

Do you know we've had forest fires since the beginning of time?  We've had droughts, as well.  The big difference right now is that we are getting cold winds from the Arctic pushing the smoke down on us.  In the old days we had Pacific westerly air.

Same as the California fires.  They were whipped up by Arctic air.  Neat.

In a digression, the world cup restored my faith in why I hate world cup soccer.  They just diddle around for 2 hours and then pop into the net.

Heatwaves Take a Break for the Summer

Arctic air is resurgent.  I assume that it will now get stronger for the winter.

The Gulf Stream continues its act from the Wiz - "I'm melting!"

The Arctic has a clockwise vortex that is pouring cold down on us.

This is neat.  Shows how the 'Fooling Blob' evolved.  The tiny remnant is now stuck south of Hawaii.  This is the thing they call El Nino.

This is the depth animation.  It has hotter water below cold.  This can only happen in a dynamic sense, that is with a current.  It is dying, and so, with it, all hopes of Ellie.

This is where we are in relation to the 2024 heating event.  That wasn't really noticed in reality, just on the charts, and was declared only after the event.

ps more heat in the media than real heat

ps I'm getting huge random numbers on Analytics, but not a cup of coffee.  And all new, never a repeat.
