I maintain my careful watch for the big wash of El Nino heat coming over us. In the meantime, we have a clipper looking to start snow in September.
A clipper is a very specific mechanism of having a hunk of Pacific plume dragged down by an Arctic blob. They fight all the way down, and bring big snowstorms in the depth of winter. Since the Pacific plumes took a break all last winter, we weren't getting them, just naked Arctic blobs.
Europe is just getting an Arctic spill.
The world is cold.
My chart showing the rise and fall of El Nino hasn't been updated yet. Although they can make up the coming of El Nino, can they make up heat energy? I am waiting with baited breath. Most likely, it will be like our last record-cold winter, and they will just hide under their rocks, without a peep, ready to come out in the stagnant summer.
