This almost snuck right by me. It's what I've been saying for 30 years. A big monster nuclear plant on the best rock in the world. None of those stupid baby reactors.
If we really want to push it, this is the place for all the nuclear waste. In tunnels right under the lake. No weeny influencer science. We have pure diffusion in this rock - 10,000 years one centimetre diffusion. All the other sites are horrible underground rivers.
Maybe this takes 20 years.
ps I think if Doug wants to do something rational, but not political, he does it on the down-low.
ps 'Diffusion' is my standard for underground disposal. Without that standard, everything else can vary by huge amounts.
ps I'm fairly convinced we can't build big nuclear any more. The baby reactors will confirm this. All the consultants are grufters. However, let the games begin!
