Ocean currents Nov 25, 2018

It came out a bit late, probably due to Thanksgiving.


Here we seeing increased flow down the bleeding nose of South America.


It's difficult to see whether the warm area is increasing.  But these are surface temperatures, and total heat energy is a volume


This is the Pacific.  The reverse current has increased, and there is a weird upper return current that I haven't seen before.  This is allowing low, flat, moist air plumes to hit California, giving them rain like a full El Nino.


In Toronto we are happy to get this cold wet weather, rather than extreme cold.  :)

Although the Gulf Stream is as dead as ever, there are these huge storms and plumes hitting the UK.
