Ocean Currents - Nov 20, 2018

The new ocean current map shows a lot of interesting things.

First, The Great Bleed continues.  I've never seen concentrated current lines going south, nor seen it go so far down.  It's still not that significant, but it is growing.

Then there is the Arctic current coming down along Greenland.  Once again, I've never seen it so strong.  My thought is that it is caused by the pack ice volume building up and separating salty water.

Finally, the El Nino reversal has gone all the way to Central America.  However, the effect doesn't really show up in the temperature map.  I suspect that it is all surface, with no major energy content.  It has been going for some time now, without any effect.

If I preach to the choir, then we are seeing everything we would expect with a coming micro ice age.  Next month's plots will show increased Arctic ice volume, and global temperatures dropping, especially Northern mid latitudes.

None of this is suitable for Christmas party conversations, so be warned.  :)

ps.  the 20 year (40 full wave) sinusoid is cresting and going down in global temps.  The last time this happened was in 1970 without the benefit of satellites.  The big wave (300 year) started rising in 1820, and I hope it isn't cresting as well.  If it is, we might as well put all of Canada under glass.  :)

pps.  Great headline in the Guardian, number one of the carbonista defenders.  :)

I love those guys!
