Unusual Pacific plume brings rain to California

This was a huge Pacific plume formed last week.  It went straight up from the middle of the ocean.  These are generally rare and cannot be counted on to keep things warm.  It is pouring rain on the fires, and all that wonderful ash is great fertilizer for the next bloom of flammable California brush.  Expect more fires since California is generally in drought.

The fires are 'carbonated' but the record cold isn't.  Just remember that for your intellectual Christmas parties.  The warm Pacific air (low pressure) is sucking up some Gulf heat, so Toronto will be above freezing for a while, with lots of rain.
