We'll just call this El Nino, why not? Just as the weather forecast changed overnight to freezing, it changed back again. A delicate balance.

The Arctic vortex ran away overnight. We've got nothing. As the proverbial cartoon villain: "Curses, foiled again. I'll get you next time!"
If for some reason, you are not in a party mood, two typhoons in a row is quite rare. I expect the normal course of cold to continue in a couple of days. Toronto is right on the edge.
ps there's no heat left in the Nino zone. Those typhoons are running on heat in the west Pacific.
Somebody is happy. Why don't they call this El Nino?
ps and just a minute ago, they were trotting out the Polar Vortex.
They are ready for whatever weather comes along.
