State of the Oceans - October 9, 2026

I have it from the young people that nobody cares about climate change any more.  On to the next thing!  So, I won't bother with the warmies, they don't exist.  The big issue is "OMG, I can't take another winter like last year!'

The opponents have drawn their line in the sand, and it is the end of October.  We go real warm, or real cold.  Obviously, we, in the physics club of 3 people, are going for cold.  Natgas will be with us, as they go into panic mode.

The weather people follow patterns, and map high and low pressure areas.  These zones are not 'objects' in physics, as they have no energy and momentum.  They also love the Jet Stream, which is just the boundary between hot and cold air, and has no energy, or influence on objects.  That's why I call it fantasy, like ghosts.  Maybe it's all real, but not in our physics, like magic.

The main 'real thing' is heat energy, and the objects that contain it.  Heat is just the vibration of the molecules, and follows its own rules on heat transfer.  There is also kinetic energy, of air and ocean water masses.  The big news is that we are now in a 'low cycle' of heat energy.  Our current 'market place' for energy interactions has existed since the continents broke up, maybe 60-100 million years ago.  The continents separated enough that we are in a general 'Ice Age' for the last few million years.  Lucky for us, there is a mechanism to keep continental ice advances to a cycle of 10,000 years.  We currently are enjoying a nice 'Interglacial'.

This post has no charts, because I feel lazy.  I've done enough for now.  You know the usual drill - blah, blah, getting cold, etc.  Next week we go cold, have fun!

If we go cold, the media will release the 'Polar Vortex Dogs', and forget all their predictions.  They haven't been right yet for any prediction, but that has never mattered.

ps last November

Snow and Flurries: Light snow and flurries began appearing by November 8–12, and returned with mixed rain-snow showers and light snow accumulations during the final week of November (November 27–30).

November 30, 2025   This year it will advance to mid-November to late October, with a huge uncertainty.

ps they are hedging their bets.  The PV cow corral is always good press.

and then they have the short stagnant hot summer.  Nothing stops them!
