Revisit of the Great Toronto Earthquake - Part 2

This is the Scientific Method.  In the old days of my youth, we put out the hypothesis and did experiments.  That ended with the Great Ozone Scandal.  People just postulated, shouted and threatened others.

There are some new things since the last article.  First, they have finally gone with my volcano hypothesis, that it isn't a deep plumbing thing that spouts out the flames, but the collapse of regional magma chambers and you can measure it.

Thus we have our Hamilton Fault as is now exists.  We have lots of seismic reflection data that nobody looks at, proving it has regularly poofed off.  The deeper sediments of Lake Ontario look like somebody was trying to knead bread.  From all this, I estimate it goes every 5000 years, and the last was 5000 years ago.  That doesn't mean much.

Now, the usgs yells at us that faults are big steel plates grinding against each other and ready to slip.  In fact, in the 70's of my youth, some people put out the hypothesis that if this were true then the San Andreas should be hot because of all that frictional heat energy.  The hypothesis failed, and the results were quickly buried, because the usgs lives on the Religion of 1906.  It's the same with the warmies.  Everybody likes their religions, all supported by 'consensus' of people who make their money from this.

In fact, as we zoom into the Hamilton fault, we find almost no stress, just in some places.  The whole thing is stopped by continuously sliding by 'arches' of stressed rock.  If we did any stress measurements, we would find nothing.  It's all 90% cold water, just like the San Andreas.  The stress arches are actually stress rings because of both sides of the fault.

I could do a picture of this, but that doesn't get anywhere, since nobody reads.

So, the bases of the arches are building up stress, but most importantly, they are being hit by stress corrosion from the water.  We get little earthquakes all the time when one stress arch goes, but the stress goes into a bigger arch.  We get the whole cascade of 10 times more M5's than an M6, etc.
