We are in clear-air conditions. Not a speck of rain anywhere. This latest cold air blob brought 'storm conditions' to Alberta, but clear. Can't be seen by radar.
The days are nice because of the static temperature, and the nights are cold. I only go by night temperature, since it is a closer measure of heat energy.
The heat blob in the nino zone is not coming back up. This parrot is dead. The general temperature is going below 30C, and thus, cannot be a heat energy source.
Residual heat is keeping up the Nhemi temperature. You can see that the passage of all those heat blobs bounced the temperature in January, thus making last winter not as horrible as it could have been. No such luck for this winter. Toronto should get the 70's long runs of 30 below. Huntsville at 40 below.
My #1 indicator of Nhemi temperature is the Gulf of Maine. Not warm.
ps the last ember of the camp fire has winked out, and we can all sit around it, pretend it is warm, and sing songs, instead of getting more wood.
