So, while all the happy-happy thoughts are on El Nino warming us up, physics has a rather unpleasant tale to tell.
We have something big happening in the Pacific Antarctic feed for the belt. If I look at it with squinty eyes and sideways I see a huge pulse coming up, and deforming the flow lines.
This pulse or cold-water blob is seen in the sea temps map, as well. This is a huge event and out-trumps even an El Nino, if it existed. I don't see any physics stopping all the cold flooding in. Stay tuned.
