**traveller notice: Do not go to Ottawa
This is good physics. Normally, any collision between cold and hot air forms a vortex, which is a classical snowstorm, big storm, or hurricane.
This one is linear. There is a collision over a huge area. The last one spawned all those deadly tornadoes, and this one could be bigger.
ps. a linear storm has a cylindrical vortex, much like the jet stream. I was canoeing once and saw one approach us. The cloud looked like a giant steamroller coming to crush us. I paddled very fast.
