Heavy cold air slays the Great Lakes

The -50 air is on the move, and the Great Lakes are done being the shield of Toronto.  This is seen on the surface winds.

The news is quite happy saying that this is the last blast.  Are they basing that on physics, or hope?  I see at least one or two more coming.  Very weak plumes in the world.

Very weak plumes rising, and Europe is finally getting a taste of the action, as the Atlantic plumes run out of gas.  The truckers are using it all.  And we have no idea how the world temperatures are doing, since noaa is still out.  Every time I mention that world temps are going down on cbc, I get an immediate sock puppet saying 'No they aren't.'  Faith is a wonderful thing.

In the 70's, March came in and out like a lion.  We can expect that this year, and we can expect that the 'degree days' are very high.  Nevertheless, should we get one mico heatwave anywhere in the world, the phillies will be happy.

ps.  wow, everything is so icy that even my ice cleats were sliding.

pps.  I hope noaa isn't busy doing a Danish Fudge, which is when the ice volumes went down suddenly.
