No heat in sight, extreme cold for a few weeks yet

As I look out on my driveway, I am looking for heat.  We will usually break a winter by having warm Pacific air wash over us.  No such luck.

Pacific plumes aren't coming anywhere close to us, and the Atlantic plumes only give us snow.

NA is so cold you can't see any texture in the mimic, but you can see it for Europe.

The Arctic is still recharging while spilling at the same time.

I've never seen the anomaly map go white in the middle.  That's record cold, against the background of what it usually is.

That's unbelievably heavy cold air coming down to the tip of Florida.  On a somewhat selfish note, the air doesn't yet reach the lower Caribbean, where I chose to vacation.  However, remember we hit the 'Cold Turn' in Tahiti the last time.

The cold is still seeping down like cold blue blood past Dallas in the regular weather forecast.  No retreat in sight.
