We know that nosa always has to hop on the latest bandwagon to get funding. Somewhat sad. Right now, they are throwing out all that diversity stuff. Go to the Moon? Go to Mars? All sails change in the wind.
They have the propensity to jump at things, if it suits them. A long time ago, they measured one chlorine atom high in the atmosphere. At the same time, they found that the ozone layer had holes at the poles. Eureka! Just throw in a two-single-point correlation, and you have something. They came up with the whole freon thing. No more measurements needed, ban all freon in the world, only 1 trillion dollars cost for the world.
You would think they would put in 1% of the world cost to do the Scientific Method, and measure things. Nope, but somebody in nosa did. They were thrown out, and you never heard of them again, because that the whole thing was impossible. Imagine the nerve! You can't dig out that paper with a shovel.
On to the next thing. They went with a two-point correlation with temperature and carbon dioxide. This was good for them, and no further work needed. Cost to the world - 3 trillion dollars. Wouldn't have cost nasa anything to find other proof, but they would never find it, because it had no physics.
Now we come to the final reckoning. You can always go with groupthink and fantasy for a while. Physics always kicks in. Now, world temperatures are falling off the shelf. Their lives depend on pushing it, telling people they are the warmest ever, while being the coldest ever. Are all the eggs frozen?
Their biggest victim has been natgas storage. The price has remained below the 'nearly free' level, while the storage went to the bottom. There actually isn't any bottom, but the pressure keeps dropping tremendously, meaning more energy to extract, which is paid for in natgas. Eventually, you are burning more gas than you are getting out.
This is somewhat reflected in the weekly EIA storage report. They always act like it is a big surprise OMG! I'm sure this cold Arctic blob emptied it out, but they never show the cost of storage extraction.
The point is, that I think they have abandoned nasa, and gone for the 'headless chicken' act all on their own.
I may be wrong here, because thehansen could just stare the weenies down. We might have to wait for the storage report, or the next Arctic blob. Putting money into this crap is not for the faint of heart. You are not dealing with reality, but with the crowd of weenies.
