Arctic ice volume marches to a different drum

Average Arctic sea ice volume in October 2022 was 6,300 km3. This value is the 10th lowest on record for October,  about  1,400 km^3 above the  low record set in 2020.

That's from the monthly ice volume report.  They actually went to '10th'.  You can look at the chart and see the glass half-empty, or half-full with ice.  To physics, it's zooming away, back to its former glory.

This plot shows it struggling to surface through the pack.
