This is the fun thing about Linux. I have a Realtek usb bluetooth chip in my little media computer. It has worked fine for a year. Then I did a big update to the latest kernel, Debian Sid, etc. The chip works for exactly 12 minutes and then dies. You have to do a big power reset to get it to come alive.
This has been a Linux bug since the chip was made, maybe more than 5 years. You can look up threads, and they always end with 'Now it works'. It's funny how this happens a lot. Now I am waiting for them to correct the same memory leak that keeps coming up.
It's good to have alternatives. I can use the tv's hdmi sound, and forget about the bluetooth for the sound bar, for a while. Maybe next week.
