Much like the warmies, the doomers pick things out of a hat. The success rate of doomers is zero. The odds of a real doom being predicted by doomers is zero. However, they are a persistent bunch, because there is so much money in it.
The point of 'noble' chemicals is that they don't react with anything. Just like noble metals such as gold. Would you go on about gold particles in your soup? The doomers do. Since the beginning of microscopes, we have noticed 'specks' in cells. Most likely carbon, and maybe quartz. Who cares.
However, analyze these specks with a super-duper thing, and you get micro-plastics. Remember the nano-particle scare? This is the same, except it's 'plastic'. I played with liquid mercury as a kid, it's inert, but can form compounds in a pulp mill. Big deal. Workers bathed in transformer oil, and it became a big scare. Even poor asbestos got a bad rap. Only was bad when people smoked like chimneys, and maybe cut off a year.
The point being that if people have been saturated in something since the beginning of time, then it is not a doomer story. It is best to compare these things to the effect of sniffing a puff of ciggie smoke every Sunday afternoon. No doomer story is close.
