This is just fun stuff and has nothing to do with climate change.
Mammals and dinos separated at 312 million years ago. Then at 270 mya, we had an explosion of forelimb changes.
You can see that the continents were starting to lump together. This would have produced huge climate changes.
But nothing was like the Jurassic thermal blanket of continent. This gave us a very hot and wet Earth, and the dinos ruled as large animals. The mammals went into hiding.
Then the continents split again, and we have mammal city.
