They are calling it because of a rise in sea elevation along the equator. That is always there in cycles, because it is the main mechanism for heating the planet. The water bulge is due to the spin of the Earth.
This is funny, because the current reversal that is increasing temperature is above this.
They do not line up! Yet, they go on that the elevation rise is 'totally unusual' and resembles 1997. This satellite was launched in 2020, and they never had any accuracy before. Did we have such a rise for the posthumously declared El Nino of 2024? Easy to check. Will they? No, does not make for a good show.
That current reversal is a shallow thing that fools satellites, yet they use the elevation rise to say the heat band is very deep and full of hidden hot water. It doesn't line up!
