I don't believe it! The new cute eee box has completely died over the weekend. I looked it up on the internet and there are no stories of these things dying. That's why I'm putting it on the blog. Tomorrow, I'll phone the local Canadian reps. I hope they have a decent replacement system, since the US one looked horrible - send it in, wait, wait, and they'll see if it really is dead. Decent places send you a new one, and you put the old one in the box they sent, with pre-paid courier.
The worst warranties are those cameras, where you have to wait 30 days for them to look at it. My Fuji camera was like that.

Wiki the all-knowing says The Eee Box hard drive has a hidden recovery partition containing an image of the factory OS installation. This allows the Eee Box's operating system to be reset to its initial factory state without the need for any external media or optical disc hardware (although conventional recovery discs are also included)."
Or is it shows no sign of life as in dead parrot?
Is your " 12Vdc, 3A, 36W power adaptor " working correctly?
And of course you did this " 1. If the power indicator light is not on, please reset the system by taking all power off system including battery and hold down the on/off switch for 30 seconds.
2. Remove the unnecessary external devices and use the AC power adaptor mode.
3. If the power indicator light is on, restart the PC and choose Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked
4. Using the support DVD or hard disk partition (requires a recovery partition) to restore the system for a try.
5. If it is a hardware related problem, please contact the local service center."
No disk life when powered on. Does not boot the usb cdrom. Power seems ok. It doesn't have a battery.
Yeah, first dip into their service! The phone number was a disaster! I finally got through and they cut me off! I find out how to register and email, very obscure.
