Japan takes off

 to who knows where?

There might have been some hope for Japan and physics, but I'm afraid not.  I had hopes for Alberta, but they descended into the madness of the right.  It's all sad.

I don't see any approach to ruthless rationality.  The US is in constant civil war, and Canada is not doing so well.  We know that Europe will freeze to death, and Australia will just sink into the sog of endless La Ninas.  Perhaps Iceland?

Credit cards to become extinct

I'm just rolling credit cards now.  I have two, and I just barely get a new one, when it is filled with phoney charges.  Then that card is cancelled and I wait for a new one.

Maybe it's just me, but this is getting ridiculous.  Watch out for very little charges.  It's how they check things out.  If you miss one, then there are a zillion on the next statement.

Credit cards have no security, except the leagues of investigators hired by the banks.  With all the big hacks lately, I think they are overwhelmed.  Obviously, we are going to have to go to one-off tokens or some such thing.

Workers forced to return to work, and they leave the next day with covid

Ha, just talking to a fellow dog person.  They forced her and the rest to the office.  Then, they all got this recent Toronto covid.  It's brutal for a week, and then a long recovery.  I think this is BA5, and when they get better, and go back to the office, then it's BA6, and so on.

However, I don't think a classic office can go on forever with remote workers.  They will all drift, and how do you deal with new staff?  It just means the end of the classic office.  Those big, under ventilated cubicle farms are the virus's wet dream.  :)
