Toronto is in a pocket of clear air, with rain all around it.
When it is this confusing, it usually means a strong 3D effect, with the cold air from Greenland slipping underneath the muck from the prairies.
The Pacific continues it's shallow, heatless reversal. This is the mechanism of an El Nino, but with water only a few inches thick (there abouts). For the 'Super Ellie' we have to go with the fantasy mechanism of hot water hiding at the the bottom of the ocean. And spaceyx can fly!
