Arctic air around Europe so cold and thick that tropical plumes bounce off it

 


 I just found that this was interesting.  The last time I saw such a hard bounce was when Greenland was at it's usual 60 below.  This picture would mean that the plumes are very weak.  Europe is enjoying a nice chill right now, but you'll never read about it.

UK is freezing, but the media are all about the one day coming up when it hits 28C.  They are obligated to keep everybody going with a stiff upper lip.

Morning... North Europe is having a "weather event". Huge rain. Meanwhile, us southerners are about to be whacked by 43c tomorrow according to the telly. Roll on Sept.
