Dribs and drabs from Japan quaked reactor

On the news.

You certainly can't hide that! This starts to crack their cone of silence and it turns out that there was all sorts of damage. Although it's like pulling teeth, we have already learned that they may have exceeded their design basis, which would have been shown by their internal accelerometers. Intense world interest will force them to open up, since this really is the first nuclear plant to be hit hard by an earthquake.

I hope the people at home learn from this, especially in regard to transformers and internal seismic instrumentation. You can ignore the real world for only so long, before it bites back!
