No major Arctic flows have allowed Pacific air to come over the mountains. This is being dragged down by the cold air, and is forming a classic clipper. These have been rare because of little Pacific action, but maybe something is changing. This brings us lots of snow.
The extreme cold keeps coming down.
No Arctic recharge, even though Greenland isn't black. There is a continuous flow to Europe.
ps. the California Kids' plane was frozen up this morning.
