This is what I've been expecting, but the timing is off, due to high residual heat in the northern oceans. That heat was a left-over from our big heating event of last winter.
The Greenland white light is on, and we can expect cold blobs. For Toronto, we will have the full effect of a huge Vancouver hit.
That plume is huge, good for the skiing.
There is the full-channel flow down the Greenland Gap. If it keeps up, we get the channel full of ice, and the Thames will want to freeze over, if it can. Once the channel is full of ice, this flow should be a more permanent thing.
We're getting a flash of ice right now. When the two upper islands are iced in, then that is significant news.
ps.
ps. a strong Pacific plume hit goes over the mountains and tends to blow away cold blobs. We usually get dry, moderate air.
ps I have started my famous indoor farm in the garage. This time I am taking some lettuce from the garden, and seeing if it fast-starts.
