Braaaains in Spaaaace!

 

I had this hypothesis show up in my dreams.  

Hypothesis - For upright heads, the brain 'garbage collection' is the lymphatic system, and it relies on gravity.

This is physics and biology.  Naturally, we'll never see the physics experiments and the Scientific Method, because the medical people are philosophers.  We saw that during Covid.  But, this is a good hypothesis, supported by lots of articles.

When brains were developing in ancient evolution times, there was no need for extra drainage, standard blood circulation was enough.  Mammals decided they needed more brains to avoid being stomped on by dinosaurs, who had brains the size of peas.  Then things got complicated.

The brains has a blood-brain boundary, and heavy thinking produces garbage.  What to do, what to do?

Let's overlay another drainage system.  We have gravity, the brain is high, so we don't need much else.

Just throw in a tube that drains into the kidneys and liver, etc.  Let's have fun with evolution and make it fancier.  Creatures with better drainage are more successful.

Let's go to 'no gravity'... what happens?  I am beginning to think we need to start making the big gravity spinning wheels in space.  Trumples can pick that as his next project.
