Linux - New Debian installation defaults to 'suspend' and power off

So, the warmies got to Debian to save power.  This was killing me! I had to reinstall my mini tv server, and it was only lasting 10 minutes, no matter what I did.  So, upstairs watching a wonderful love movie (which always puts me to sleep), and every 10 minutes I had to walk all the way downstairs to turn on the computer again.  Needless to say, we didn't get very far into the movie.  I fell asleep from the exercise.

I spent hours on this, because it is one of those things where everybody complains, and there are no solutions.  I reinstalled as a server only, etc.

Yeah!  The solution is on this site.

There is a default suspend on all the desktops, so they don't need to make it default on headless servers.  Always learned something new, always will forget it again.

ps -- omg! they've gone after all the permissions again, citing 'security'.  This is why Linux is so secure, you can barely get things working.  I reinstalled with exactly the same everything, and nothing works.

ps OMG what a horror show!  Clear the router before reinstalling.  That was a day.
