Nobody around to re-build Pickering

Ha, I was going to do my usual rant about the place, but who cares?  They did mention tunnelling, so I assume they want to put in a tunnel intake. like Darlington.

ps.  I'm glad about the tunnel, because the biggest threat in my earthquake scenario is the silt-filled intake.

End of the media heatwaves

On to the next one!  Somewhere in the world, there will be a little land-locked pocket with no breezes.  That means a heat wave!  And hopefully, the guard will be there to set up photos of people pouring water over their heads.  They won't talk to the old men who will say "This is nothing!"  Nope, lots of influencers need their money.

And here is India -- the ocean breezes blow away the stagnant pocket.

This is like making news from a one-in-a-million Google AI response to a ridiculous prompt.  There's lots of money in that.

Huge dive in sea level

On this chart, it is called 'Relative Sea Level' because that's all you get from tide gauges.  However, this one station is as close to 'Absolute sea level', because the coast is neither rising nor sinking.  I don't know why the PR dept for nooa only uses 'sea level'.  That's wrong, but is just a trifle in their miasma of wrongness.

I use this as an indication of average sea temperature.  It shows all the historic temperature changes of the world.  Neat.
