the vortex in your drain in the northern hemisphere spins in one direction but in the south it's opposite so do all vortex, in the southern hemisphere also have an opposite spin. (paddling, swimming and the like) or is that directed by the swimmer or paddler?

It's a different way of thinking about ordinary things
Clockwise, etc only applies to hurricanes and low pressure zones.
