Yeah, more greenhouses

It is my dream of success for Canada, to have a huge number of greenhouses, driven by natural gas and its carbon, to grow every pharma-plant known to man.

They would all be run by Ukrainians, who are the smartest people in the world.  That would be Coca leaves, and juicy poppies.  The base levels of these drugs heal people, the artificial concentrations just exist because of crime and smuggling.

Someone showed this to me.  10,000 Ukrainian greenhouses to go.

ps also my dream for Canada to declare 'Scientific Method Day', with my theme song.  Olympics are nice, but what did jocks ever do to raise our standard of living?

Full Arctic flow down to Texas

The flow is there, but the temperatures don't reflect it yet.  I think the flow is very high, and will settle down tomorrow.  Very hard to calculate total energy these days.

All impacts of the heating event are gone

With physics, you know you have the real thing when you see impacts on all charts.

During the heating event you had Pacific plumes bashing into the west coast and sailing over the mountains like flying dragons of heat.  Now, we are back to the old pattern of weak plumes heading to the Arctic, where elephants go to die.

The Arctic is very cold, but without heat energy, it just stays there, looking stupid.

The Arctic Cold Factory has come off its layoff.  It will start building up its inventory of cold sludge air.  Just like tires in Ontario, there will soon be no more room, and it will export to the US.  It's not paying the illegal taxes.

ps and here is my morning bowl of Delicious Irony

ps more irony served on a plate

Physics folk ballad

I wanted to do F = ma, but the poor lady just couldn't do it.  Force equals mass times acceleration, the most fundamental thing to nerdy engineers.  Really, this disaster is the end, but I'm in love with this singer.

ps the whole family says this is great.  I wanted it to play for the grandkids in the ovens (coming!), so they get an edge on physics.

World temperature report - Feb 20, 2026

As the song says, they missed convection 'the most glorious force in the Universe'.  We had a nice little heating event that saved US natgas.

This was the area of a big ocean current reversal.  These things dump a lot of heat into the air.  The El Nino event was a huge reversal across the whole ocean.

The heating event is dead, and things are rapidly going back to a cold normal.  We are getting our cold blobs back.  The cold was stopping at the border, but we should get a trumper soon.

The weather people just see low and high pressure zones floating over the Earth.  They don't care about the primary forces.

ps Tariffs struck down.  Now I really expect another 'trump is dead' thing.  He has to blow a gasket.

Song: Toronto is Jamaica

We have gone beyond advertising jingles.  This is fantastic.  I have dropped the mic, and will give up on this until the next big thing.

No weather today.  Very boring, but the forecast shows we get a nice cold blast.  As well, the little heating event has run out of gas, so we need gas.

Scientific Method Rap

 These guys know their stuff.

At least there's no tune.

Cold sneaks in like a thief in the night

Rather boring, after yesterday.  I wasn't even going to do a weather thing, but I thought of the need to keep the body cool by opening the windows.

We have an 'invisible clipper' coming down.  That means there isn't enough moisture in the air to show air movements.

All of these have been stopping at the border because they have little kinetic energy.

This doesn't show much.  We will continue to have a big muck, like the past week.  The storms will be driven by warm air coming up to battle the cold.

ps and Toronto has run out of salt, which we shall politely call 'a tight supply'.  Ice is a half inch thick, and the chow-sidewalks, which are always salted have none.  I'm afraid to drive today.

Ding Dong the Trump is Dead

As we know with all dictators, the surrounders keep his death secret for a week or more, depending on the size of the freezers.

I was always determined to call his 'effective death' within a day or two.  Of course, like Poots, they could always find a substitute in that time.  Surprise!

Trump was having microstrokes all the time, and it was inevitable that one would score in the top corner.  I just note many incidents where he would be fuming all over the place, and all we get are file photos.  Look at that Texas guy saying they were going to flip Texas to the Dems.  A living Trump would go nuts.

I count at least 4 things that would have erupted Mount Trump, and we have nothing.  Today, we will probably have 4 more.  Like his father, they probably have him in a room with a phoney computer, and dead phones.

ps in another day or so, we will get the announcement that he's feeling a bit 'under the weather'.

ps and here is a jaunty k-pop tune about keeping hitting the net and it will go in

I prefer doing songs where I don't understand the words.

ps OMG, I created an ear worm!  It has now replaced that instacart song in my head.

ps  Not dead.  Ten more false alarms to go.

Physics song

This original piece of music is entitled 'Happy Physics', as Latin Pop

As I have no talent whatsoever in music, I am happy to destroy the entire industry.

ps now I am going to be able to make an entire commercial.  It starts with the Ontario gov't negotiating the snow contract for Toronto, and singing 'No more snow'.  Then the designers of the LRT start singing along.  Finally we have a giant chorus of lefties singing 'Ban Natural Gas'.

ps really, I'm not doing any more songs because I would have to listen to them.  It feels like a cord in your brain tying your ears together and slowly shrinking.

ps now this is a song!

.. and it will only get colder....

Storm intensifies

This storm is becoming as exciting as the Canada hockey game.

From a monster sausage, we have gone to a very tight vortex.  Physics would be important here if you could rate the storm.  We shall call this storm 'Hockey Puck on a Stick'.

Olympic Gold Brains

I am impressed with the Olympics.  All our big monopolies are searching for talent and then investing in it.  They get bragging points on tv commercials.  The nice thing about jocks is that they are no threat to the established order.

Could we do this with brains, that allows us to earn some money?  Every cent we earn now, comes from digging out, or cutting down things.  Not many brains required.  That has given us a level of income, but it isn't going to increase by much.

Our Ontario commercials show us investing in stupid things, by stupid people.  Roads are nice, but you have to earn income.  If we have the government leading investment, it is always for photo-ops.

I'm still wondering why our great hopes for income always end in drunken splendour.  Why did we invest in housing to 10 times over-supply?  I think it was our business 'alcoholic personality', or 'apes'.  That has nothing to do with alcohol, but getting a thrill by constant manipulation, lies, and pushing people around.  The ultimate is the 'old boys club' that dominates Canada.  The person who personifies this is tv 'boat man'.

So, in reality, the potentials for big income, like Blackberry, and Nortel, were started by apes hiring a bunch of brights, or taken over by apes to expand.  They both crashed on the rocks of stupidity.

Listening to the ice pellets hit my window, I realize that we do not have the right weather for brightness.

BC may not have the weather in the coming ice age, but they are super 'left coast'.

I am convinced we can create an underground California, better than the stupid Toronto Path with stale air and bad lighting.  You go in there, and your IQ drops 30 points.  I have been experimenting with hydroxyl generation and variable spectrum lighting.  You can have a bright environment.

Again, this is in Wesleyville, and while the stupids are wrangling up a nuclear plant, the brights can start the research centre.  Serviced by a high-speed train to Toronto, designed by brights, and not the stupids.

We don't need to go into another civil war of brights and stupids because the brights will focus some energy in keeping the stupids happy.  They never do that regularly.  We always have a cycle of the brights bringing in prosperity, and the stupids thinking they are left out, and it is 'unfair' that stupids don't get the same pay as brights.  Just like the US, there is always a civil war between the cannon-makers and the cannon-fodder.  Each gets one vote.

All this is just to keep me laughing at my own jokes, while sitting in my old-man chair.  I just read fantasy, because I am allergic to stupidity.  The stupids outnumber us by 100 to one.  We need them to push the brights to Olympic Brains Gold.

ps the 'Bright Cycle' is from 20 to 40 years old.  After that, without support, they go insane with all their money.  An Olympic approach could deal with that - full unfettered, untaxed brightness, with support.  We don't need to create 'bozoes', 'mushies', or 'trumpies'.

ps  woo hoo!  Canada wins!  I had to go for a snooze, and came back to the winning goal.  Too stressful for me.

Sea Level Follies

I did a lot of study on isostatic rebound, with serious physics people.  Now, they are all gone.  Instead, we get these guys.

I looked at their paper.  No physics.  I totally blame nosa for their mixing of 'relative sea level' and plain old 'sea level'.  This paper continues the fine mixing.  Sliding definitions again.  I can't argue against it.

In the physics news, we have our wonderful chart of the relative sea level that is identical to absolute sea level in one spot only.

It is up a bit, reflecting our current heating event.

Quite amazing that this is only seen in the northern hemisphere air, with no effect on the sea temperatures.  A truly tiny event.  I'm surprised the media didn't go all nuts on this.

Summary - all media talk on sea levels is garbage.  All talk on El Nino is garbage, since they have expanded the net by a factor of 10 to include most of the Pacific.  We will have a long slog to July.

Triple-hose storm is on us

A storm is not an object - another great weather people myth.  Right now, this storm is a result of 3 fire hoses colliding at a spot.  A big mess at the collision point, but it can move infinitely quickly with slight changes of the hose streams.  It has no mass.

At this instant, in Toronto, we are getting the warm side.  Soon, we will get all sides.  Beware of ice pellets.

ps Horrible Toronto Weather - LIVE!  0800 hours, accumulating ice pellets.  Dog says 'Are you kidding?' for dog walk.

LIVE!  0930 - Ice pellets and heavy snow.

1116 snow and ice.  Canada hockey is so sluggy I stopped watching

Stagnant Sludge Storm Coming at Us

A big linear like that is a storm, and it seems to be a big one.  That is ridiculous to have Pacific air sailing over the mountains like nothing at all.  That means a lot of energy, and a very high wall of air, perhaps a full 20,000 feet.  It is mixing with very cold Arctic air.  I would give this storm a rating of 'dang tootin large'.

All our storm drains are plugged with snow.  Expect flooding on the roads.  Tell your boss you stubbed your toe.

Scientists abandon old definition of El Nino

Climate change will always be with us, because the change the definition.  That's the same as 'the poor will always be with us, even though they have chips, tv, and internet'.  We love sliding definitions.

The original band is extremely cold.

This is Nino 3.4.  Now, they will have a huge zone, and look!  It's warmer!  I can't wait for more of these great scientific accomplishments.

ps this is all translated as "None of our old patterns work anymore, so lets make new ones without telling anybody".

Texas is No Longer Evil

I am no longer calling upon the Gods of Cold to rain havoc on Texas.  Anyway, it's getting along to Spring.

This is an illegal interview by Colbert.  Neat.  The King of Hate is worried about this.  Amazing.

Ok, that's Texas.  But the UK now.....

ps since summer is coming along, I may buy bbq sauce.

Lefties call on Carney to step his foot into it

I think this is their last hurrah.  Can they sink Canada any further into the economic hole of sh*t?  All for 'social justice' which earns you 2 cents on the warmie exchange.

Static weather impasse

We are at a 'zero energy' impasse.  Very boring.  No need for the video.  This is the ultimate state of having no heat energy in the oceans.  We should have July to keep the warmies going.

ps with 'Zero Day' weather, everything is static and the temperature is stratified by latitude.  Those old cold blobs needed a lot of energy to pump up the warm air, like a cold fountain.  Anyway, we always have the UK

The bbc just plastered on the same picture for the rest of the season.

The physics of curling

With nothing else to do in Huntsville with the 10 ft snow, we watched curling.  The two men pretended to be experts on what the heck 'hammer' meant.  We saw the Evil Swedes going all trumpy and destroying the 'unwritten rules' of the game.

Pre-summary - the physics is such that you can't 'second touch' the stone without it being totally obvious.  The unwritten law is that you cannot tell by looking or pictures, whether an 'air kiss' actually touched.  Thus, everybody goes nuts without physics.

Curling lives on the non-linear response of the stone on ice.  They make it extra fun by 'pebbling' the ice with tiny bumps.  A good ice-maker is worth his weight in gold.  The launcher guy gives forward momentum and then uses the handle to give it angular momentum.  The stone is very heavy and smooth, so only the handle can give it torque.

The stone slides down the runway, and the rotation makes one side faster over the ice than the other.  Many sports use this, like baseball, and bowling.  With ice, there is a zone of a few molecules, where the water behaves weirdly.  The fast side can have less friction than the slow side.  You can see this near the end of motion where the slow side sticks fast, and the moving side keeps going.

That is fine 'stick slip' friction which causes all earthquakes.  However, there is endless non-linearity during the motion where the fast side may run into liquid viscosity.  Who knows?  Point is, there is a lot of noise.

A 'touch' needs a good whack to change anything over noise.  This is easy to run some experiments.  A rule that says 'no touch' is stupid, since you can go down to lefty low probabilities.  Does a butterfly cause a storm?  Is a thread from the glove a touch?   A sport without the Scientific Method is like storybook weather forecasting.  They deserve their trouble.

In summary, we should boycott Volvos, and forget about those dang Grippies.

ps of course, tonight, we have the physics of hockey and leaving the opposition in front of the net, while everybody else has a coffee.

ps and in a wonderful steal from me, but no mention of physics.

Small heating event just hits mid-band North

We have had a very tiny heating event.  It was confined to the West Pacific, and, once again, the weather people missed it.  They are expecting an El Nino, which will never happen.

There it is, in all its glory.  It is starting to cut across lines, and may be dead.

It is strong in the N-hemi, but not in the Arctic.

The Arctic is plunging like a rock.  And nothing in the S-hemi.

The water temperatures are limited to a few oceans, and there is no sign of the heating event.  For us, the warmth came in the form of a few Pacific plumes, and this looks to be over.

Again, if we rated everything in terms of energy, this event would be a few notches down in magnitude from the last big one.

In summary, look to a long winter, with a few more major events.  The heating event saved US natgas, but wait until next year.

Cold descends at a snail pace

Earlier in the season, this would mean that a very high blob of Arctic air would be zooming down.  Now, it is very low and thin air.

When you see the wind whiddling around every island, then it is low and thin.  Does it have any staying power?  However, the UK looks interesting.

ps and carbon warming will go on forever.

ps.

What do I have against the UK?  Can't answer that.

Figuring out the stationary clockwise vortex

This is a zone of high pressure.  That usually means it is cold and clear, and it moves into us to give nice weather.  Lows are big storms.  All of this is weather-talk.

With physics, I can't figure it out.  I have the counter-clockwise vortex figured out to some extent, but this is a head spinner.

You can see that Greenland just gets colder by descending air that spreads out.  Looks like a violation of the conservation of mass, but the wind vectors are only derived from sat observation, and doesn't do 3d.  One thing that could be happening is that the Arctic cold air draining out through the vortex, totally opposite to heat draining out with the other type of vortex.

If this is an upward drain, then our winter is over.  No more big spills freezing us.  I hope so, and wait for things to get worse next year.  But that's for future-me.

ps quite convinced now that the clockwise vortex is drilling out cold air and dispersing it, like a cold chimney.  Perhaps a termite eating the cold.  We'll find out soon enough.

Heating event is holding

The big surprise is that the heating event is holding.

The warmies will call it the return of El Nino, and everyone will be happy.

Just like the last one, it has deposited a warm lump in the ocean, and it is heating the world.

Although the Arctic is very cold, there is no motion.  Not even worth showing the video.

Back from Huntsville

Yeah, the Heart of Snow for near-Toronto.  Soon they'll have a train, buried in snow.

Those little bumps are the patio furniture.

We have a weak cold blob coming down, but lots of stagnant winter weather for now.

We've got the signals for full cold, but nothing is coming.

We have had a clockwise vortex in the Arctic basin for 2 weeks now.  No idea what that means.  I have no idea on the mechanics.  The old vortex was clearly building up cold dense air, and this one is doing something.

All eyes on Europe

All Arctic drainage is hitting Europe.  Nothing happening in North America.

The warm and cold collision is forming one heck of a band of rain and snow.

I'm looking forward to one of those Olympics where you can't see anything on the ski hills.

ps taking a rest on blogging for a few days.  or maybe not.

Italian soccer players come to women's Olympic hockey

The American team has a trumpy little weasel, who is compulsive liar.  Maybe it's not a player, maybe she doesn't exist at all.  It's all a dream.  But I didn't like that hockey game.

Reminds me of world cup soccer with players who made a big production of being wafted by another player.  Oh, Momma Mia!  Sprinkle a little magic water, and he runs off again.  Is this good for the sport?

Anyway, I don't think the baby college girl made a big impact with her antics.  The whole Canadian team looked like a bunch of old farts, entirely bamboozled by the American youngsters.  Reminds me of trying to keep up with my grandson.  Our only bright youngster is that fast fast girl.  I think they weighted too much to experience.

ps what do I know about hockey?

Water cooling for a hot Earth

This is actually the State of the Oceans - Feb 10, 2026.  It tells us how we are going to be in the next few months.  Heat transfer by the oceans is thousands of times greater than air.  Think of a little fan in a water-cooled Artie data centre.  Of course, the final stage of cooling is forced convection.  With the Earth, most of our cooling is out of the poles.

Our biggest engine for the water portion is the Pacific Ocean.  The Atlantic is a weeny side-show.  Water is shipped around by convection in the ocean.  The currents are driven by convection, not the air, which is the biggest weather-person myth.  Our continents also move around by convection of the mantle, and not by Trump's Will.

There's nothing going on here.  Our biggest influence is that warm blob in the South Pacific, but the effect is minor.

I like looking at the Gulf Stream, but that is just a little fun on the side.  The UK keeps blaming the weather on the Jet Stream -- good for them!

We have had a little heating event in the West Pacific, starting the same as the huge 2024 heating event, but just a baby compared to that.

The more meaningful water temperatures show almost no effect.  I always go with water temps since they even out little blips.

Just a little while ago, when that blip was rising, all the current in the W Pacific was reversing.  For the monster heating event of 2024, we had a huge current disruption, and I wish I recorded it.  Anyway, it will be seen one day when people start doing physics.

In summary, there is nothing stopping our major ice cycle from playing out to historic levels.  We'll make the Little Ice Age look like a skating party.  However, I still predict that the lip-flappers will continue to convince people that we are getting warmer.  I find they are an 'unrestrained Trump' since they don't have to use charts any more.  No chart can be found that agrees with them, unlike phoney viewer numbers for the trumpy sad half time show.
