Dry, encyclopedic tone: This article states that we must be careful about storing carbon dioxide as fizzy water. It tends to bubble out.

But related to your thoughts on mico seismic monitoring of tunnels etc. are these things. They have a 3 axis accelerometer, wireless comms, fairly fast processor and some flash memory with completely open source hardware and software programmed in Java. There's a detailed lecture on it here .
Kinda pricey for final products but cheap as a development platform and one could have less expensive optimized hardware made after prototype details were all sorted. So how sensitive an accelerometer would one need?
Sun is being consumed by IBM. Microseismic monitoring, like for my fantasy tunnel requires very sensitive accelerometers. House, or power line monitoring could use these things.
