This article had an interesting picture which I hadn't seen before.
Look at that rickety, free-standing bathtub! Does anyone think it has a chance in an earthquake? The juicy quote in the article is from a CNSC person (who says she didn't get stabbed from within?), who cagily says "The reactor is as safe as ever, even without the pump improvements." In other words, the pump crap is like painting the Titanic a different colour!

Nary a word (in this article or any of the others) about AECl shortcommings or about the MAPLE debacle.
I was in favor of more Nuc power in Ont asap. Now not so much.
If the PM can legislate away Earthquakes and "dissapear" any troublesome regulator then ensuring no defects or accidents in any future nuclear plant can be only a pen stroke away.
You see, I rise above that, and think of the alternatives, which are worse! Technically, it's no big deal to build a safe nuclear plant, it's the politics which makes it unsafe! The only solution to this is for the people to rise up and demand transparency! If I were King of the World, everybody in OPG, Bruce, and the CNSC would have a blog as good as mine!
