Tilly to get Academy Sword

I watched a bit of this.  It's as good as any of the junk I hate.  When the wife went on a grandson trip, I watched a few of the big films - puke!

The whole trailer for this introduction was Artie produced.  I'm sure there was a genius producer behind it, but it was as good as anything.  We are a sucker for cheap rom-coms, and all those people will be out of a job.  No more 60-year old actresses acting like 30-year-olds.  All the cheap sets that have represented NYC will be torn down.

We know of a person who has made a lot of money being a director for commercials.  No jobs now.

The next woke thing will be 'Organic Movies' made with organic matter.  However, an Artie movies uses 10 times less carbon than a real one, all full of those leftwinger filmy types.

The big thing for me will be watching a movie I've seen many times before.  We complain that it always has the same ending.  Not Any More!  A full wedding scene for P&P.  Mr. Darcy swims more.  All sorts of things.

However, with my memory, I can see a movie many times, and always say:  "Didn't see that coming.".

Of course, all the actors for hallymark come from soap operas.  That's all gone, as well.

Ghosts of Eppie come to hit Trump

There it is - porn hurricanes.  Are they underage?

The general air patterns are a mess, but we are getting a little blob keeping us in sunny drought.

ps - and in the news, we lament the end of climate change

not with a bang, but a whimper.

ps and here is Mabel, Goddess of Sea and Beer - Hey Mabel, Black Label.  with her breastplate.

ps just got a letter from not-trump, saying he likes the picture and will put it on Troot Social.  My response - Dear Mr. Not-trump, thank you very much, and I know how you like to take advice.  This whole Dictator Thing is not a good look on you.  You would be better with the Ruthless Scientific Method.  This would get the Intellectual Eastern Liberals screaming just as much, but would leave some room to do physics.

Arctic vortex does its morphing trick

Blobs coming down hard.

We are starting to get that nice Siberia colour.

This is fun.  The Arctic vortex is doing a big dance.  It is still pouring most of the cold air over Siberia, and on to Europe, but it is morphing.  Probably going into a recharge, since so much air has gone out.

I have a feeling it goes to a 'quivering recharge' and then really hits Canada, like Siberia.  Poor Portland won't have any heat after it is carpet-bombed by Trumpler.

Arctic spills over Siberia and Europe

This is the time for the warmie dance - la, la, we're so warm.  I have nice weather at the cottage, and all this proves the reality of the warmie groupthink.  It's very real.

This has to do with the Great Ice Machine, or Arctic Vortex.  Unlike the whispy, near-vacuum Polar Vortex, this thing is the weather, and is the Dominatrix of Weather.

The av dances around the Arctic.  When it is close to us, Canada gets the heavy flows.  UK gets the flow when the Atlantic plumes open up the Greenland Gate.  What is amazing is how fast things can change right now.

ps cottage report - went on my mushroom hike up the mountain.  Devastation!  Looks like a movie set.  That 2 inches of rain just softened up the moss.  Not a mushroom anywhere.  I guess all their little fibres bit the bullet.

ps  - all the Atlantic-side hurricanes have been blown away by Arctic blobs.

The media is getting frantic.  This is called Storm 9 right now.

The minute it turns into a hurricane, it is running away.

Trump to blow up Portland

It's all right people.  Portland is going to be destroyed anyway by a Super-Tsu.  (tsunami).  Those fishing boats there might be a little worried.  I take it that Ptl didn't vote trumpy.

ps we'll call it the Gazaland.  All those lefties have tunnelled under the hospitals.  Go get em!

ps  Is Portland burning?

ps  In Canada, we're blowing up the Post Office.

ps I have never seen something 'cancel' that fast.  wow.

The Dreaded Clear Clipper

Not dreaded for us, but for the warmies.  I've never seen this before, but it shows violent clear-air convection throughout the whole lower atmosphere.  That is one thing that kills 'greenhouses' in the air.  You have to fantasize a layered atmosphere that does not exist.

A clipper is always warm moist air from the Pacific dragging down Arctic air, sliding down a perfect 45 degree angle.  Brings horrible winter weather.  A clear one is the same but the Pacific air is dry.

Anyway, very limited with bandwidth up here in the hut.  Looks like a nice day.

Cottage Report - Sep 26, 2025

Toronto got 6 inches of rain, but the cottage only got 2 inches.  That's about as much rain as our thin soil can take without pouring everything over the rocks.  No great rivers, so that's good, and the drought is over.  Mushrooms poking up everywhere, and I'm going picking-hiking tomorrow.  I'm only going for Chanterelle mushrooms.  or King Boletus, but not much else.

The white line on the rocks is how much the water went down, maybe 3 feet.  We are a feeder to the Trent Canal, and that drought was something.

Weather is now sunny and cold.  Will have the indoor fire on tonight.

Arctic and Pacific sweeps

A big blast of Arctic air through Alaska has rammed a Pacfic plume right over the mountains.  The mountains are frozen.  Plus, we get a straight Arctic blob.  It's something new for me.

Nice freezing in Canada now.  Greenland has started to get the Dreaded Black Spot.  Ha, too many fantasy novels for me.

We are progressing towards 'a winter to remember', until the next year.  I can't see the fantasy concept of climate change being blasted in a more spectacular manner.  However, to be fair, they are now saying that this is a 'blip', although not saying how long the blip will be.  I call it more of a bloooop.

Technology conspires against Trump

All that technology, running hot for hours while the secsurv went over it for bombs.  And then slammed with an unbearable load.

I love the video, the escalators running empty, and then a big line of fat men come up to it.  All jamming as close as possible to Trump.  Step on the escalator, and ... stop!

The trumpies jammed right behind, two to a step, and they are stunned.  Too stupid to think, and melly just walks up, something every day on the subway.  Anyway they all have to trudge up.  Had they kept a reasonable density, they could have quickly reversed and let Trump take the elevator.  But no, too much density.

Of course, all the other technology got the bomb treatment, as well.  I would like like think there is a movement 'Bugger the little things', led by kimmelmeister, but this is just physics.

ps all I am thinking about is the scene in starwars where jabbahut sends luke to the beast, and he kills it.  The beastguy is crying.  Of course, with the escalator it wasn't luke that killed it, but jabba the fat.

ps on normal channels you aren't allowed to generate a cartoon of Jabba the Fat.  Sad, might make Trump mad.

ps ha ha, the fun goes on.  The UN has stopped all preventive maintenance on the escalators because Trump cut off all the money.  So, the load safety trigger probably ramped up.  The UN is blaming a trumple for jamming her shoe in the top grate, but it certainly became over when the fat man sang.

Back in the saddle, again

Kimmely is back, preaching morality.  Since the wife is away with the grandkids, I've been having a huge dose of popular culture, with tv and movies.  It doesn't agree with me.  Back to the weather.

The Arctic has recharged.  All the other gates are closed, and we are going to have fun.  We had our 4 or 5 inches of rain to save us, and it's back to dry weather.

Greenland will soon be white.

You can see that all the Arctic is being squeezed like a lemon.

Such a nice string of typhoons, all driven by Arctic air.

Best Australian Skiing Ever

I never talk about Deep Dark Australia, but they look like they are having fun.  Probably best skiing since 1992.  However, endless articles saying that all this fine skiing is caused by Climate Change, and maybe, if you redefine things, it isn't that great after all.

In all the first movements of the Groupthink, did anyone ever say the skiing will be fine?  No, they are extremely flexible and can adjust to any conditions.

Arctic is cooking up some cold

The Arctic Ice Machine is generating some nice ice-cold air with the stationary vortex.

All the gates are shut by ocean plumes, and that just leaves poor old Canada as the flow point.  We have that nice Pacific air flowing over us, and then an Arctic blob will come behind it.

In the Atlantic, the media is still trying to 'Raise the Dead Parrot' of hurricanes.  They really need something exciting.  The Chinese build too well to have typhoon excitement.  Here, we see an excellent example of the 3-dimensionality of the atmosphere.  The lower winds are smooth as glass, with no curl.  The upper atmosphere shows a hurricane forming.  However, this sucker will be blown away by the Arctic or Pacific air, just like the last one.  There is no heat energy in the Atlantic belt.

Way over in 'Typhoon Land' we have perfect harmony between the upper and lower atmosphere.

ps but they still have to flog the dead horse.

This is actually lifting me out of the very gloomy weather.

ps  within a few hours, a full-channel spill is coming down the slot

Just showing on the far edges of the weather forecast.  The forecast is an under-estimate, and we will have the fun of seeing it constantly get colder at night.

Best Irony of the Day

I just love this guy!

Blast from the Past - Nice Pacific Air

Wow, we never get that any more.  This is our old-school weather, when there was heat energy in the Pacific.  We may have the typhoon to thank for that.

Anyway, we have a band of fresh, clear, warm, dry air.  Remember that?  I'll be able to finish the painting at the cottage.  Amazing.

ps looks like trumpy has stopped my tide trends plot.  I expect lots of things to stop eventually.

ps and the typhoon has left little splotchles all the way

ps, it's fun that we are now defining stagnant weather in the age of satellites.  Although all the geophysics is winking out like the stars behind starlink sats, we see more than we did in the 70's.  We had total drought, and now we have a rainy sog.  We could have fresh air from the Pacific in a few days.

Climate change physics does engineering

No climate change engineering has worked so far.  However, that doesn't people from trying.  In order to raise money, they must twist their minds to a world where climate change has a concept of physics.

This is down a big borehole.  They use climate change logic to say it is safer than anything on the surface.  They get lots of money.  Just think of a menthos in pepsi.

I really like this one.  They go on and on why standard windmills don't work and then present this baby.  Once more, lots of money.  The problem with all of these things is that natural forces have exponential variation.  All of them fail.

Big Typhoon

The warmie news is full of the typhoon.  It is caused by climate change, just like all other weather conditions:  heat, cold, rain, drought.  Just put your coin into the nearest climate fortune teller machine, and you get the only answer it has.

This typhoon is fed by Arctic winds zooming over the Pacific, and warm winds from the Indian Ocean.  It is over warm water, so it is a 'hot' vortex.  Both extremes of hot and cold vortex machines use the non-linearity of water phase changes to provide extra 'oomph'.  No physics is being done on this, but I find it fascinating.  I have run the models in my head, and it hurts.

ps A hot vortex need to be a double vortex running up the interior sides.  The pressure at the bottom is so low that the water practically boils.  It sucks out so much heat energy that it is forced to follow the hot water, and it leaves a track in the water temperature.

If you squint, you can see a circular impression.  No track, and not close because of the nature of how these pictures are taken, and the clouds around the typhoon.  You would need to throw in a bunch of 'smart ping pong balls' to measure things.  Fascinating physics, but not in my lifetime.

ps and yeah, Toronto gets its 2 inches of rain.

Arctic in recharge

We are getting rain.  NA is stagnant, and the Arctic is in recharge.  This is the identical pattern from last year, except it will be a little bit colder, as the heat energy runs down.

So, we wait a week and see where the blobs fall.

Amazon - getting sucked into the 'third party trap'

Jeez, this has happened enough, you think I would remember.  Rather than pay to have the return shipped, I'm going to nail it to the wall to remind me all the time.

If you innocently blunder into this, then you wait a long time to get something, and you can't return it the usual way.  This has happened to me too many times.  I'm shifting away from Amazon, and going to Aliexpress a lot more.  I've never returned anything there, most of the stuff is so cheap they just send replacements.  I suppose I'll eventually get pissed off with them.

First it was stores with endless lines.  Now the stores are empty and I'm using them more.  Amazon is apparently running out of money, so they are getting some it back.  I suppose my traffic with them will get so low that I will cancel Prime, but then I have to wipe them off the books.

Aliexpress is getting down to 6 days for shipping.  Neat.  There prices are really cheap, but you need to look things up for an hour to find somebody honest.  Blah.

ps the main mystery of Amazon was how they could swallow the delivery, and build warehouses on every other street.  Well, it's time to pay the piper, and I hate that.

ps big change here.  I have cancelled my Prime membership, since when I cannot order drunk any more, it releases my addiction.

ps the dog has left me in the cold to go on a dog cruise.

Arctic blob, having chilled, moves on

I'm just running on geophysics fumes, most of the good stuff is being cancelled, or delayed long enough to be the same thing.

I don't see another blob for us.  We are getting some rain from this old blob, but we need more.

The UK is having fun.  If they get all the Arctic air, then there's nothing for us.  Selfish twats.

You can see that everyone else is enjoying the cold.

The Arctic activity is pulsing on and off.  There's good chance the Gates of Greenland will shut with the next tropical plume, and we'll get what we're due.

Back to full Arctic Production

We have our main Arctic Vortex, which I call the Ice Machine.  It is an amazing mechanism, which we shall never know about.  Right now, all the flow is going to the UK, starving us of cold.  Ha!

The weeny storm is going up against the Cold Blob, and will be shattered.

Normally, the warm plumes close the Greenland Gate, but not this time.

The new warmie thing is to say:  "Right Now!  For One Show Only, we have natural forces overwhelming human-caused carbon warming.  We'll be back to our regular programming soon."

People believe this, but they have been doing this "Only a Blip" thing for a while now.  We are going into a Major Ice Cycle, and the presses will only be running in July.

Don't forget that if somebody was a Cold Kimmel, their show would be cancelled by warmies.

ps and this is a great investment during a Major Ice Cycle.

It will stay open all year, on the hopes and dreams of warmies everywhere.

ps they've gone down to 'more likely' instead of the usual 10 or 70 times.  Yeah!

Second Crotch Earthquake was tacked on at the end

The last M7.8 came at the end of the M7.4, confirmed by the aftershock sequence.

This is an 80km long fault, and has more than twice the energy of the first one.

The first one was a 40km weeny.  So, I think I can call this first one an official foreshock.  That keeps up my one in a hundred chance of any given earthquake being a foreshock for a larger one.  However, subduction foreshocks usually have a full magnitude or two difference from the main shock.  That's 10 to 100 times the energy.

Therefore, I now call this 7.8 to be a foreshock for an M9 at 100 to one.  So, the odds of a super-tsunami remains at 100 to 1 for the next month or two.  After that, it can go down to the background level of 1 in 500.  No need to get your knickers in a twist, you coastie people live with this all the time, and you have lots of time to run to the high ground.  Check your routes!

If geophysics had any money, this would be a great time to replace the rusty signs, and get some drills going.

ps I'm talking in fantasy odds now, but if this goes in the mechanism I expect, it will be both sides and a 'shaped charge'.  That means two M9's on both legs.  That's one heck of a clamping force, almost orgasmic.  Since there is no money for a direct tsunami energy measurement, they will grossly underestimate the run-up for the tsunami.  Do me a favour, and when they say that's 'far enough' to run, go a bit further.  Have insurance, and be prepared to say good-bye to your stuff.  I'm pretty sure you can't pack up your car and go.  Those stupid roads always go parallel to the coast, and a million people will want to drive.

ps all the stuff they attribute to the Cascadia zone are from this thing.  You would get a big argument if you said this to a geophysicist, but they don't exist anymore.  They were all purged with the climate change thing.  So, the record from Japan in 1700 or so was this bouncing off Vancouver and hitting them.  All the huge markers of tsunami run-up are from this and not Cascadia, which is a dead fish fault.  Remember that anything I say will not end up in the Artie stomach.

ps most likely no more earthquakes, and this is the end of it.  I'm glad since it is such a horrible thing.

Interesting Arctic air flow

A big vortex started up again in the Arctic, but these things are flash bulbs right now.  The UK is getting whiplash weather with big temperature changes, but they are getting a full Greenland Gap flow.

The weeny storm that the warmies are trying to scare us with is just staying in one spot like the last weeny storm.  No hurricanes coming.  Records for storms only started in 1950, and this 'season of nothing' is going back to 1800.  The Toronto cold blob is shifting out, so it won't be as cold as they were saying 2 days ago.  The weather forecast is getting really bad because of all this chaotic turbulence.

M7.8 earthquake in the Russia zone

Well, I have no idea what is going on here.  There was an M7.4 and I don't know the relationship of the fault area.  Nevertheless, the earthquakes are getting bigger, when normal aftershocks get smaller.

It is more dangerous if we see the aftershock zone of this earthquake creep up towards the crotch.

So, we have to wait.  This is a very clean subduction zone.  That means it gets an M9+ every few hundred years.  But it can't do a Brazilian right up to the tip.  It has to go down the other side.  That's when we have a super-tsunami.  However, we are still at 1 in 100, and that gets cut down with every larger earthquake.  How long can you tread water?  I'm glad that trumpy has cut all geophysics, this is scary.

ps this is a 'shaped charge' for a tsunami.  The good path is that all this settles down in a normal aftershock sequence.  The recent earthquake isn't that much bigger than the first one, so if there are no more, then everything is happy-happy.

Bone Spur of Chilling Cold

I just saw this and thought of bone spurs, for some reason.

I looked at the night temperatures up at the cottage, and all my bones started to ache.

This is narrow, but intense.

ps and Canada will be too cold to meet the carbon targets.  Freeze to death now?  Or boil to death in 30 years - what a choice!   (not really boiling to death)

And in this article, natural forces are blamed for 'overriding' human-caused carbon warming.  How long will this darn 'natural cycle' thing go on?  How long has it been going on?

Red light eye therapy

I've done this for a long time now, when I read how it boosts the mitochondria in the eye.  Now, it is a major thing.  I was reading outside with my ebook, and the eyes started to get dry.  Before, they would go into a 'panic', with lots of pain, and having to stop reading and close my eyes for a while.  I would put drops in my eyes.

Now, I just zoom the 'Basement of Wonders' and shine red light into my eyes while I look at the news.  In a few minutes, good as new.

This is the Artie overview.

Eye red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a non-invasive approach using specific wavelengths of red light to improve eye health, reduce inflammation, and protect retinal cellsResearch suggests benefits for conditions like dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), dry eye syndrome, and slowing myopia progression by boosting mitochondrial function. While promising, further standardized research on safety and optimal dosing is needed, and the U.S. FDA has not yet approved this therapy for eye conditions.
How it Works
  • Mitochondrial Health
Red light is believed to recharge mitochondria, the "powerhouses" of cells, improving their energy production.
  • Cellular Protection
It may help protect delicate retinal cells from oxidative stress and damage.
  • Improved Circulation
The therapy can increase blood flow to the eye tissues, aiding healing.
  • Reduced Inflammation
Studies indicate that red light therapy can help reduce inflammation in the eyes, particularly in conditions like AMD.
Potential Benefits
  • Early research suggests it may slow the progression of AMD by improving retinal cell function.
  • It has been explored as a way to stimulate meibomian glands, which produce the oily layer of tears.
  • Myopia (Nearsightedness)
There is ongoing research into whether red light can help slow the progression of myopia.
  • Some studies suggest it may protect retinal cells in patients with glaucoma.
  • Eye Injuries
Research indicates that red light therapy can help speed healing and reduce inflammation after eye injuries.
Safety Considerations
  • UV-Free
The red light used is safe and does not contain harmful UV radiation.
  • Wavelength
Specifically, wavelengths in the mid-600nm range, such as 670nm, have been studied for their effectiveness.
This really works, you three old people who read me should do this.  Except the Spain Guy because he probably gets enough light with all that dust farming.  It's funny that no old person I talk to will do this.
