I know this has nothing to do with nothing, but it's a dramatic event when it happens right under your feet! There we were playing in a big water polo tournament, when they noticed the pool was visibly lowering. This is an absolutely huge Olympic pool! By they time they started the evacuation, the pool was half empty! All the kids were going down to splash in the basement! And there's big gym and running track down there.
Needless to say our tournament has been disrupted. We're having games in other pools around the city.

can anyone give me an update on the extent of the damage and how long it might be closed?
Their web site now states that the pool is open Monday, although I think it will cold as ice. I'm sure the basement must take a bit longer.
Where are you finding the updates? Have searched and can find nothing on the web and they have not changed anything on their phone lines for pool or gym.
Sorry, it was our water polo club that had the update. They aren't so organized. You'll have to phone them, and they'll deny they ever had a flood! Makes them look bad.
Yeah, now I'm getting some reporter interest.
Looks like they suppressed the news! I'm the only one in the whole world who reported on this. Expect to see my printing press smashed soon. :)
Not only was there no reporting of the event, none of the gym club members have even been officially notified that the basement is closed and that you have to pick up your locker belongings since the lockers at the gym club have all been ripped out.
Their voice message says members can use Memorial or Gus Ryder..
Yep, the city really knows how to deal with all these disasters....NOT!
In searching on the flood (both my daughters swim and dive there and we wondered what happend!), the first thing tha came up was your blog. The second was this article which explains what happened, so I thought I'd share:

We were there last Wednesday. I toured the basement. They have ripped up all of the carpet hardwood flooring in the entire basement, and they have many driers going, especially in the dojo. The pools are both fully functioning and have been for the last two weeks. That was some kind of leak!
Hey, thanks for that reference! I was looking for it.
