Too bad Harper-companies can't be cited for fraud.
Here's a nice summary article of the various money-nasties that went on with the nuclear fiasco. In the end, it was all fraud for money. Wait! I delete that last statement! Replace with: It had all the *appearance* of deliberate fraud, but they could always throw the 'incompetence' defence!

A very damning article.
Written by an American. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The sharks must be circling closer now for the inevitable rending to bits of AECL.
A requiem for a once-proud organization.
The crisis came just in time.
Without it would AECL have been promised that $300M gift?
....MDS is dependent upon its suppliers (principally OPGI, Hydro Quebec, and AECL) for its source of supply. Each of these entities is a Crown Corporation and is unionized. Because MDS is able to maintain an inventory of cobalt-60, a labour disruption at either OPGI or Hydro Quebec would not significantly impact the Company’s ability to meet normal customer requirements in the short-term. MDS has taken steps to lessen the risk that a labour disruption will cause an interruption in its source of supply of medical isotopes by establishing co-beneficial back-up arrangements with certain competitors...

Ok, ok! I know that everybody thinks that Voldie (I have to use code names!) arranged all of this, but I have taken the position that they aren't that smart!
Nevertheless, I'm sure they were sitting up all night saying "What to do, what to do!" when this gift came along. They immediately sat up and sang "People are going to die, People are going to die!" and quickly went to work.
