Cottage report July 4, 2024

Nice and sunny. All is good

Ps just saw an article on some distinguished scientists arguing for the scientific method at the Hague, on climate change. They were much better than me. But, all ignored.

This groupthink must go on, until a disaster.

Cold, served with a dash of salt

As we know, the Australian Salters are being blamed for the cold in UK.

The salt is causing a huge plume of West Pacific heat to come up and shove all the nasty Arctic air on top of us.  I can't help noting the signature of the Trickster Jet Stream.

Of course, if you want to go with boring physics, then we are just getting colder, due to chaotic ocean currents.

If you believe that the 'long-trend fairies' will come out to warm you, then be warm in your beliefs.  You are supporting a whole industry of 'Influencer Scientists'.  They deserve your affections.

We now have all our people without an ounce of physics.  They can huddle together for warmth.

UK goes bananas

 Reference

I find this is inevitable when the gov't gives up all credibility.  Wild rumours.  They even threw in 'no climate change'.  And killed it with the usual 'Doesn't matter what you feel.' stuff.

UK has lost the physics plot.

ps.  and air turbulence is up with the cold air masses, but just ask the 'clime-o-matic'

Hurricane curl formation

I'm not picking up, on the media, that there is a big line hurricanes coming in.  This picture shows the perfect curl forming off Africa.  The beauty is how the cold comes down and scoops things like ice cream.  All you get on cbc is 'it's all climate change'.

Fusion Power -- Always 30 Years Away

Alright all you fusion people.  Let's look at the physics of the Sun, and see what's missing.  I've already done that, and that's quite a headache!  I don't want to do it again.  But, it served to outline the main surrounding physics of the process, and not just the atoms.

The fusioners are under the delusion that just a bit of heat and pressure, like diamonds, and you can have large-scale fusion energy.  Wrong.  There is the little problem that each fusion reaction is a bomb, and wants to blow everything apart.

So, you have a nice plasma, and Bang!  The nice geometry is gone.  How about heating little pellets?  This is just a bunch of explosions.  Can you scale that to a steam plant without vibrating everything to heck?  No, ask the Darlington nuclear people.

A commercial plant, or an airliner, needs everything smooth.  All components stressed at 10% of yield.  See how ships split in fatigue if you ignore that rule.  Look at Boeingle (oh, Bowinkle!).  Anyway, to test my hypothesis, we have to wait long enough for me to enjoy the Deep Sleep.  Have fun, everybody.

ps. I shouldn't have written this.  Fusion just goes on my list of Grand Stupidities, but it is way down on wasting money.

Calgary pipe should hold for the inquiry

They are expecting a fluffy report that doesn't say anything, or blame anybody.  A bit like the Ottawa LRT report.

In reality, the same failure mechanism is working the whole pipe.  Fixing it is like patching a 70's concrete bridge.  They should just get on with a new one.

But, they can have their fancy report, and wait for the next failure.  and patch that.  Neat.

Cold day in July

A very unusual Pacific plume pattern shoves more cold air on Toronto.

We have a straight-up plume from the West Pacific.

A big cold blob coming down to fight the Gulf warm plume.  Lots of rain.

We would normally expect the Pacific plumes to go flat and keep out the Arctic air, but this is not happening.

ps.  I'm not laughing

Very complex feed for hurricane

 Never seen this before.

The cold feed for the hurricane is coming down the whole Atlantic.  The close-up is very weird.

If you feed into the Canadian auto-bot, you get one answer

What causes hurricanes?  - climate change

This is one for the books and is not the standard hurricane.  I doubt that more will be like this.

ps. with mimic, you can see the hot feed comes from s. america, and there is another one right behind it.  Shows how 3d the winds are.

Spencer world temperatures finally turn

The impact on the world is defined by the area under the peaks.  This one will have turned out to be very narrow.  I still think the calibration of the satellites is drifting, and needs some good physics.

ps the whole world is blue

ps.  blatant recommendation -- Understance has saved the wife.  She is running around the house saying "It's so nice to have a bra!"

Tides drop for no man

If you like to run with physics, then you look for multiple effects.  If you make a ridiculous hypothesis that violates all the laws of physics, like greenhouse gases, then you should look for other effects.

If you just wish to be safely ensconced in Influencer Science, then just look for what you want to see.

I'm not pushing either way of life, but I look to this tide gauge to generally confirm the state of the World's heat energy.  This chart shows all the historical warm and cold cycles.  Right now, we are plunging dramatically.  This is so depressing that I might stop writing for a while, but you know that never happens.

All the world charts look horrible, so I won't show those.  I can't find anybody interested in a cold summer.

I'm also not going to bother with a forecast for the winter.  Last year, we had a heating event that blew physics out of the water.  The mechanism behind this will remain unknown in a veil of influencer ignorance.  So be it, that is our social reality.

ps.  everything is going down the slot for my predictions.  I get a solid 4000 hits per day by the AI squad, so I am trying to take a holiday from writing.  Try to shake off the AI's.
