Watch the ice

 

Thanks to Pacific plumes we are getting extreme cold and then warmth.  This can cause problems on large lakes and rivers.

Closer to home, I noticed this on the Humber River.  This is fast flowing, and a channel can form quickly.  Maybe good at 20 below, but now it is a 'kid trap'.  

Good thing that nobody is stupid enough to skate on dangerous ice.  Neat.  The ice is probably so dangerous that nobody can take off the net.  Perhaps they should have a rope on it.

Have no fear, dangerous conditions are always ignored.
