A great prediction of the warmist groupthink has been that the Arctic ice would vanish, and everybody would move there to escape the heat. Arctic waterfront properties were a big thing. Trump orders ice breakers.
The ice has gone down ever since satellite coverage began. However, now it has stopped the decline and has levelled out, perhaps even rising again.
This is our current state of the ice. When it expands in the winter, it is confined, and can only squeeze out by Greenland, like leaving a bottle of water outside in the winter.
It's greater than 2012, which was a legendary cottage summer. Only the summer allows a wide range of extent according the general temperature of the world. All the lines squeeze together in the main winter, making this a useless gauge of warmth. That's because no ice has gone beyond the unpronounceable Arctic Spitz islands.
Only under full Major Ice Cycle conditions will we get a breakthrough past the thick section of the plot. I call this one of my indicators for a return of the Little Ice Age. Will it happen this year or next?
The volume has broken the trend. However, it is a calculated thing with a lot of uncertainties, and if they are under political pressure, they can change the algorithm.
