The big earthquake did not activate the shotgun (shaped charge) tsunami. I am convinced there is a mechanism where both sides of the crotch release and send out a monster.
However, we can discuss the odds forever. Because this is a very clean subduction zone, I'll go with my usual 'better than 1 in a thousand per year'. I put that way above anything happening with the Cascadia zone. In fact, I think that any of the 'signs' of Cascadia blowing out in the past, are really due to this thing. However, now, everybody can go back to sleep and not think about it.
I had been thinking that west coast people could refresh the whole tsunami preparation thing, but all those people are fired. And Canada follows the US.
