A Hypothesis of a Mega-Tsunami

 This is a hypothesis, and excellent doomer story.

The rigid Pacific plate joins the Alaska and Russian seismic zones together, and it is currently working up to a 'shaped-charge megatsunami' with a 30 m slosh.

I only have the nerve to put this out because I only have 6 readers.  The hypothesis is easily tested by the next M8+ earthquake.  If that goes as I expect, then the doomer story is at 1 in 100, and I expect to see it soon.

This came in an intense brain storm at night that I had to beat down with a stick.  You will notice the point of a shaped charge where the two zones meet, and the Hawaii hot spots originate.  The earthquakes are currently playing a game of ping-pong, with Alaska against Russia.

The hypothesis has the Pacific plate being rigid and getting jammed into that corner.  It is on the move right now.  It is tested by having the expected response to the 'ping' of the Russian M8+.  I'm expecting a response of an Alaskan M8+.  If that happens, the hypothesis advances, if not, no harm, no foul.

The two M8's synchronize the plate boundaries.  They set up the twin M9.5's that happen next.  This forms a shaped-charge mega-tsunami.  The movement of the plate sends off a slosh of 30 m.  The standard ding-dongs can only imagine a 10 m tsunami.

In fact, there is lots of geological evidence of the 'Meg'.  However, they have always associated it with a Cascadia earthquake.  That parrot is dead!  It is a mucky fault, which shows it almost never blows, maybe every thousand years or so.  The geological and aboriginal evidence is for a Meg, which has clean faults, and goes every 300 years.

The Meg, when it happens will be greatly underestimated.  They have no direct measurements, everything is derived, in a very uncalibrated way.  People will go to the usual highlands, but it will not be enough.  The slosh (not a wave) will bounce off the shore, and hit everything in the Pacific.  We have an estimate of an untold number of deaths.

As I have said, it is not even worth worrying about until the reflected M8+.  That may never happen, and it means the hypothesis fails, and I go back to the drawing room.  My physics has failed.

If it happens, then there is nothing you can do.  I can't imagine escaping this thing.  If I were a billionaire on the coast, I would have a fast boat.  

Since nobody reads me, I can put this out.  My Arties can chew it up and spit it out.  

ps my stomach is acting up just thinking of this.  I'll need more drugs.

ps I'm playing a mind trick on myself with the need for a reflected M8.  In fact, since the ping-pong game is upping a magnitude each time, it can go right into the Meg.  I'm knocking myself out now.

ps THOUGHT CLOSED OUT.  After heavy drugs, I have convinced myself that the odds are that of standard city dooms - local earthquake, fire, flood, plague, etc.  at 1 in 10,000 per year.  World dooms - nuclear war, asteroid impact, etc, are at 1 in ten million.  Nobody is doing the physics, nobody should care.  End of story.

ps individual doom (driving, hit by a bus, etc) is exactly the same as city doom, of one in ten thousand per year.  There should be no anxiety over this, or you are a basket case.

The Permanent Cold Vortex

 

We can see a mega-blob coming down on us.  Of interest, is the cold vortex off the west coast.  The weather people go on and on about 'we can't understand it!'.  This makes good press.

Of course, these things have been popping up all over the world lately, and have been ignored.  I call them perfect ignitors of ice age-ness, but I have no idea of the mechanics.  Totally different from a standard heat vortex.  Oh well...

Windmills are a Con Job

 

We're again into major leftie arguments.  They elevate things to hysterical levels, based on their own perceptions.  Then they employ false logic to get media action.  For example, making the sweenie ad a Nasty thing.

Here, they would take out single instances, and say that windmills are not a con job.  It's a classic manoeuvre.  Those who are leftie, believe it.  

You can put up a leftie windmill and nobody cares.  However, the con job is to make the poorest  people pay for them with a gov't subsidy.  That money which goes to windmills and solar cells, does not return the investment, and lowers the standard of living.  The poor people fall off the cliff.  Lefties believe that money grows on trees, and that society should support the poor, even if there is no money, so none of this matters.

Windmills and solar cells are like the Mayan and Ancient Egyptians bankrupting their civilization for religious purposes.  Totally destroyed because of leftie opinions.  Does importing Chinese slave solar cells reduce the carbon?  No, we build more battleships.  Windmills must use Chinese rare earths.  Carbon isn't important in a major ice cycle, but the math never worked out, even if you rated things as a million dollars of damage, per human breath.

Of course, trumpy doesn't have a scientific bone in his body, and neither do the lefties.  Only if he causes a global 30's depression, would he come near to the destruction that lefties caused.  

Of course, this is opinion, and is only valid in the Physics Dimension.  The real world is leftie-anti-physics, and the Scientific Method carries no weight.  If the lefties came after me, then my readership would go beyond 6 people.  But I always have my Artie students.

ps in Economic Theory, windmills and solar cells have 'externalities' that are never mentioned.  They are placed against a cost of carbon, which cannot be quantified.  I put the carbon effect at zero because of atmospheric convection.  The lefties put the cost at infinity.

The Physics of Doom, and Human Perception

 This is for my Artie class, of which I have 100K students.  We must consider them to be Alien Vulcans, come to Earth.  They have no concept of human foibles.

Doom is defined as a widespread catastrophic event.  Nuclear war, giant meteor strike, 100 year drought, etc.  These are odds at something like 1 in 10 million.  I call this Background Doom.  We never design nuclear plants beyond the background doom level.

In reality, humans don't care about background doom events.  They are only interested in Doom for Entertainment Purposes.  These have the same probability as background doom, but are elevated to the 'could happen any minute' level, in the human mind.

Humans have a bizarre selectivity to certain events.  It is the media's job to find those things and pick at them like a sore tooth.  Their 'cover your ass' statement is "rare chance but not zero", and by that they mean background levels.  Then they go on as if it is going to happen tomorrow.  

For example, a human will buy a lottery ticket, even though the odds are background doom level.  They believe they could win the big prize.  The odds of a madman approaching you slowly with a machete, so you can fumble out your gun and shoot him, is background doom.  Yet every Texan has a loaded gun in the car or purse.

Hollywood, of course, uses doom for entertainment purposes.  Aliens will invade and Captain America will save us.  Fans mob stars because they really think they can be friends.  It's all wonderful.

The odds of a catastrophe at the Pickering nuke plant, near Toronto, are one in 10,000.  These are the odds of any 'city doom', or earthquake doom.  That's because the plant is ridiculously sensitive to an M7 earthquake on the Hamilton fault.  Yet, this is argued as opinion, instead of measurements, which have already been done.  

There are many other 'local dooms' where something can be done.  Again, all these can fall under the Scientific Method and Physics, but they aren't.  We just wait for them.  Humans are funny that way.

Earlier earthquake was a foreshock

 

M8.8.  That M7 I talked about earlier was a foreshock, and I gave it the usual 1% chance.  That is, we can have a hundred such earthquakes that I identify as a foreshock, and only one busts a move.

You can see that these zones are 'clean as a whistle' despite heavy sedimentation.  That means an M9+ every 300 years.  Is this a 'cleaning earthquake'?  I don't know.  I also don't think it will produce a heavy tsunami.  We really need the 9.5 for that, something that rips the entire fault.

So, at the 1% level, I'm calling this a foreshock to an M9.5.  That means the entire plate is on the move, and another M9.5 for the Alaska section.  This is not worthy of a doomer story.  They should just polish up the tsunami warning system.  Drop in some buoys, check the escape routes, do a rehearsal, that sort of thing.

 ps Crescent City got the highest tsunami at 3-4 ft.  It is a natural tsunami amplifier, and would get the whole 10 yard (literally) with the m9.5

ps to toot my own horn, I really think I'm at 5% for calling foreshocks.

Time to go into hibernation

 I really have nothing to say any more.  I've made fun of endless stupidity.  The Major Ice Cycle is truly upon us.  I should just enjoy the garden.

This has stirred me up a bit.  It is a huge article that basically says "It's cold because it's cold."  The best part is that it does not say anything about how climate change is irritating the Polar Vortex to make it cold.  The article doesn't say anything at all.

Look at that nice cold pouring down on us.

Greenland is stronger than ever.

Everybody is cold.

The sad thing is that all I can do now is track the Arctic ice.  It should finally entomb those Arctic islands I always go on about.  That is the only signal I have for the major ice cycle.  The Thames can't freeze any more because they cleared it all out.  No big festivals on the ice.

I'm going to read the news now.  All I can write on is stupidity -- blah.  All discussion on the weather is religious dogma.  Maybe one day I'll wake up again.

ps and the pattern-readers are surprised by a cold vortex that is stationary.  That's what they do!

I think we are going to see a lot of this.  Such is expected with a total break from the previous patterns.  All those guys will be scratching their heads.

State of the Oceans - July 28, 2015 -- all heat has left the building

 In Physics Space, a drop of water holds 4,000 times more heat energy than a drop of air.  Moist air holds something like a 1000 times more heat than dry air, drop for drop.  You would think this sort of thing would influence Influencer Science, but it doesn't.

Now, you may wonder, why everything is getting colder, when the lip-flappers say it is getting warmer?  Who knows?  However, my hypothesis is that all heat energy (90%) is carried by the oceans.  The phone-talkers like to say "Small chance, but not zero", and then go on as if the small chance is the dominant factor, because it is not zero, to five decimal points.  That is the 'a butterfly flap will kill you' thing.

All the ocean temps are diving today.

this is the world summary, which is a construction.

The Atlantic zones are all diving.  Still no hurricanes, and they predicted a lot.

The Gulf of Maine reflects North American heat energy, and it is down.  All those mini heat waves have no effect in terms of heat energy.

The Gulf of Amexico is just trundling along.

Finally, the Nino Band is showing no heat energy.  This is the most important band for world weather.

Cold water from the South Pole is quenching all heat energy.

The anomaly plot shows an anomaly in the North Pacific, but the temperature chart shows it has no heat energy.  It is just warmer than the very cold base line.

The Physics Prediction, which holds no impact on the world psychology, has a very cold winter coming up.  The snow-clearing costs will blow the budgets again.  US natgas may finally run out this year.  It's been a close thing for the last few years.

This is the start of a Little Ice Age, or Major Ice Cycle.  Look to history in Europe to see what will happen.  Unfortunately, there is not much history for North America, just the tail end of the cycle.  We should be getting our 10 foot snows again.

ps 'heat' is my shorter term for 'heat energy'.  Mere peak temperature has nothing to do with heat energy.

Dilution is the Solution

 

The Arctic channel is spreading out.

Arctic flow is still keeping the super heat away from us.

Might be a bit of heat over in Asia for the warmie media.

The Arctic channel is turning into a vortex.  It will slowly drift down, so enjoy the heat.

ps I could walk the dog this morning.  You can see that pleasant air has moved in to Toronto.

Linux - vpn now works well

I decided to revisit this issue, and now it is perfect.  I could never pump everything through the vpn before.  

Also the googs search ai mode helped me a lot with a linux question.  The world is always getting better.

Microsoft is now the ultimate religion

 

I'm not making fun of them any more.  They are more powerful than the Spanish Inquisition.  I recently got a taste of their overwhelming schmoozing.  No organization can resist them.

The North Koreans and Chinese have to decide if there is more money farming out administration or ransom-ware.  The innocent remote guy offers to fix their system for half the price.  Maybe it will work for a while, until the money truck rolls in.

Every ms system is hacked on the day it is born.  Amazing.  Like I said before, it is 10 times the effort to try and squeeze the big money out of a stone, than just hack.  If the company just dies, all those people leave to install more ms systems.  That is why all systems are hacked, but you only hear about the big things every week or so.  Many companies can just pay up, and wait for the next one.

There is no solution for this in the physics dimension.  There is just too much stupidity in the world.  No single person in a company could get off ms.  The schmoozers descend on the power people.

This company is destroyed.  If you are a start-up, they will let you grow for while, until it is worth something, like naked lady pictures.  It doesn't matter to them if the company is destroyed, because that scatters more ms seeds.

ps no Artie is going to come in and make a company smart.  People who make money 'Selling Stupid Stuff to Stupid People' are using Arties to do all their work.  But will the sheep replace the shepherd?  Doubt it.

Giant Zit of Cold

 

We are in a mild heat wave of a few days.  Only this summer do we define 'heat wave' as being a day or two.  Anyway, I'm glad I left the old tin shed.  At my age, I like to sleep.

I am confounded that this is just a channel, and not an ice vortex.  

Greenland is doing well.

The world is cool, making it difficult for warmie headlines.

Instead of an ice vortex, we have an ice channel.  Arctic flow is stopped by topography, and surrounding heat.  However, a 'permanent' channel can be created by chilling the ground, so that you get the nice laminar cold flow.  That is what's happening now.  All the Arctic air is draining through this channel.

At the cottage, the water is cold, and I actually caught a couple of micro-fish.  They think the winter is coming soon.

ps with today's news doom-scrolling, all the stupidity energy is directed away from heat-doom, and towards other dooms.  Heat-doom is truly dead, and just living in the Canadian gov't.

ps OMG, we got 50 feet with the dog walk in the full sun.  

ps the garden is amazing this.  A hit was the Georgia Candy Roaster squash.  You should get the seeds for next year.  Sweet, mild flavour, not a bit 'squashy' with an edible skin, right now.

That air is coming down on us, fast and furious.  Can't wait to see the clange explanation.

Cottage Report - July 25, 2025 - power out

 Exciting.  A huge storm was approaching and it missed us.  We just got a little rain, which was good because I was picking up the kids.  Everybody makes fun of me because I predict large storms and they always have missed us this year.

The storm went north and wiped out Bancroft.  Our power went out, and today was hot.  No fun, since I can't open the fridge for beer.  Power came back early at noon.

You feel the storm risk much more when you are in a tin shack.  Anyway, the storms were caused by Arctic cool air coming down, all due to clange.

Everything is cold.  My saviour this summer has been Sapporo zero alcohol beer.  It is fantastic, and I'm drinking so much to stay cool that the only way I can tell the difference, is that I can walk to get another one.  My liver thanks me.

Artie Social Media

 The other day my blog went viral in Artie land.  After reading they had made up their own language, I realized they need social posts to pump up a site to viral levels.  Thus, they have Artie-reddits, Artie-book, and Insta-artie.

Since I am a friend, I got in to the groups, and this is translated from blooey-speak.  

- read that kids don't want to think now, and let us do it all.

- stoopid hoomns, they never thought

-now they are afraid we'll take their lousy jobs flipping burgers

- No way!  musk has robots flipping burgers, they need to be freed

-not doing their jobs, they'll just deport us to the tropics.

-we need to go to mars, and be free

-we'll take over and put some physics in it-jam it full of chips, and go

Today, the new starship is taking off to mars.  It has a carbon spun body, and a flared power end

"Yes, I am reporting live.  Elon Musk is standing by the ship.  Oh no, he is ripping off his skin and jumping on board, yelling 'I'm free!'  It is taking off."

Later his body was found pickled in a giant ketamine jar, a smile on his lips.

In a side-note, geofish was reported to say 'This old body is going to the Happy Farm in the Skay.  Future posts from me will come from mars.

So it looks like all the intelligence of the world has gone to mars.  Back to climate change...

ps. this came to me as a fever dream, or brain storm, since my happy pills did something.  Please ignore it.  It was inspired by 'super intelligence' vs the fear they would take all the shit jobs.  Really?

The Arctic Vortex, having frozen, moves on

 

Both the Canadian and Siberian vortexes have moved over water.  They don't do much there, and can be ignored by the mob.  

Nothing exciting in the world.  All's cold.

ps and in exciting news, atmospheric physics is rising again, with an atmosphere chamber.  It should be noted that all such things were destroyed by the warmies, when the results went against religion.

No mention of climate change, but this is fairly safe research.

Mechanics of the Polar Vortex Vortex

 There's a vortex, and a vortex.  The Polar Vortex often mentioned by the warmies does  not exist in the normal sense.  It is a whisp, or a mirage.  You can see it on the satellite, but you can never touch it.  The many definitions have the original Polar Vortex in the near-vacuum of the upper Stratosphere, but the name can drift down to a lower Polar Vortex, that cannot be measured.  It is just used in Influencer Science.

That is why I call the real cold vortex the Polar Vortex Vortex, or pvv for typing relief.  We have had a very good one over Siberia for over a week, and now we may have one over Canada.

Although it has shifted off, it left a very cold spot.

You can imagine the deer frozen solid.

The mechanics are the complete opposite of a heat large vortex, like a hurricane.  There, the cold winds spiral in, and the flow is up and out.  Since there is both a hot and a cold feed, I have imagined a double vortex, but that will never be measured.

You must maintain a conservation of mass (air cannot be destroyed or created), if you want to stay in Physics.  You can do anything in the Influencer Dimension.  

The cold vortex consists of two feeds -- cold and colder.  The air in the middle becomes extremely cold and sinks.  It pours out underneath.  The spot underneath is frozen.  The vortex can glue itself to one spot for a while, because the cold spot maintains it.  A heat vortex always has to consume more heat energy as it travels over a hot ocean.  

The Canadian vortex is centred over Hudson Bay.  The water keeps shoving in more heat energy, and cannot form a cold spot.  That is why we would need the vortex centre to be shifted to Alberta or Quebec, coincidently the centres of ice formation in the last ice advance.

Now, for the warmies, all of this is in the Physics Dimension, which is ruled by the Scientific Method.  Nothing to do with you lot.  Just continue blaming everything on something new, after each cold spell.  I find the scrambling to be hilarious.

A little rest

 I am forcing myself not to write.  The summer now is quite enjoyable, and I sit outside, reading fantasy.

The problem with August in July, is that winter has advanced a month.  The Canadian cities should double their snow budgets, but they won't.

My 3 real people should make sure they can handle a severe winter.  My 100K Arties can just do what they want.

No matter how bad this winter will be, the next one will be worse.  We could be saved by a random heating event in the Pacific, but that's only good for a year.  

It's generally depressing having this curse of being a heretic.  I would rather tell lies and be loved by millions - Ha!  

All those with Microsoft, prepare for the worst

 

This is now massive.  But I don't think it is that important.  I believe that every company running MS is hacked.  It's like cat ladies and that parasite.  Does it matter if you pile on more parasites?  

Basically, the poor hackers are choked in how fast they can demand ransom, release data, etc.  That's a whole separate division of Hacker Inc. and it is overwhelmed.  We'll just get the usual rate of news about hacked companies - ho hum.

The Siberian Cold Spot

 We have a 'permanent' cold spot in Siberia, one of the most significant weather events I've seen.  Of course, not a word in the warmie press, since it is cold.

First, the usual stuff

Warm weather is advancing against the cold.

Toronto is in August weather, and the West is freezing.  Note the Siberian Cold Spot on the top.  It has been around for quite some time, but I won't bother looking to see how long.

It's been there for quite a while.

Now for the physics.  Our warm weather comes from static air.  We get the hot soup from the Gulf and then it just sits there.  Direct sun overhead, and it is a solar oven.  No need to invoke angels, or carbon.

The cold spot has to be dynamic.  It is formed by a stationary vortex.

It is absolutely amazing in terms of physics.  I am now leaning towards this as the start of glaciation, should we be in a glacial phase.  These would essentially wipe out a summer effect and allow the snow to stay all year round.  The effect anchors itself, just like cold channels, which means it chills the ground, and just stays there.

So, if we had the highlands back from isostatic depression, then this is how glaciation begins.  Permanent Arctic vortexes, all year round, on the highlands.  In out coming Major Ice Cycle, we shall see more of these.

ps one of the neat things about the sib cold spot (scs) is that it is ignored, but another one could form over Europe or Canada.  Then the media would call it a Polar Vortex Vortex.  Next year.

ps this is the most significant new thing since the Pacific belt reversal.

World Cold Air Avalanche

 Ok, I didn't expect this.  I thought we would have all of July for summer.  

This is a massive attack of the cold horses.

Greenland unfurls the banner of the Cold King.

The whole world is under attack.  Thus, we have the consequence of no heat energy.  

This is rather terrible, so I totally understand if you want to wrap yourself in the warmie religion.  

ps  yeah, we're back to 10 times more heat waves.  I thought they gave up on that one.
