Huge dive in sea level

 


On this chart, it is called 'Relative Sea Level' because that's all you get from tide gauges.  However, this one station is as close to 'Absolute sea level', because the coast is neither rising nor sinking.  I don't know why the PR dept for nooa only uses 'sea level'.  That's wrong, but is just a trifle in their miasma of wrongness.

I use this as an indication of average sea temperature.  It shows all the historic temperature changes of the world.  Neat.
